Wondering whether this Z is worth what he is asking for? Am just skeptical because I will be the 4th owner of this car. And it will be my first car as well Experts advice welcome ^_^. Planning to hire AiM mechanic to inspect it.

I'd say it's a fair asking price. In the Bay Area that's about the fair asking for a low mileage model such as this one. Also, Automatic transmission models tend to be less abused from what I've seen of most model cars, not just Zs. Looks clean but as with any purchase, clean Carfax and an inspection for peace of mind. My guesstimate would be offer $9.5k, take for ~$10,500 or thereabouts.
But a warning.... Zs aren't exactly without maintenance and that tends to run the price up so pay heed to anything the inspection may find and factor it into offer price. Remember, it IS an eleven year old car.

Once the pre-purchase inspection is done, like you said I will negotiate from there.

at 10k it seems like a far stretch...I say that bc it's an automatic transmission...if you have this car forever then it wont matter - who g-a-s. If you sell this car in the future expect 10%-15% less because it's an automatic. This is a 'run-of-the-mill' 350z...low mileage and stock setup for 10k, worse things have happened. If you can get him down to the 8k range then it's probably a win...the transmission is a deal-breaker for me though...good luck and let us know how it turns out

The inspection is complete. I got the following comments from them
How much am i looking for to change the brake pads ?
loud squeaking noise coming from left front side when appying the brakes but vehicle stopped as should...(owner stated they had just replaced brake pads a few months prior to inspection and that is when the noise had started.. possibly needs new higher quality brake pads. overall vehicle in good condition and appears to have been well maintained.
