Default Mossy doesnt budge on price right?but how bout options or warranty.

So im bout ready to pick up my z , just waiting to sell my accord for the downpayment. Anyhow im getting it from mossy down here in san diego but im sure most of you know that they dont budge on their price. Ive been dealing with this guy from the mossy in kerney mesa and my loan and everything is all set. THe thing is the car is actually at another mossy dealership which he would have to have it brought over from ( they would drive it over i beleive). WHen i first went in a few months ago i was in conctact with a guy from the dealership that has the one that i want , but recently i ended up going to the one closer to me. SO does it make a difference who i go through? I mean whats my advantage of dealing with kerney mesa when i can go directly to poway? Will the kerney mesa guy "give" me something to go through him? Obviously there is some sort of a comission involved so i imagine that there has to be an incentive for me to go to one over the other... any ideas or experiences w/mossy?

If they won't budge on price, find another dealer. There's no reason to pay MSRP for the Z. Good Luck!

Exactly no way should yo upay MSRP for a 350 right now, go up to Torrance Nissan and Gardena Nissan in the LA area. They will deal with ya a friend of mine just purchased his there(Gardena) and got a great deal from both.

Do you mean they have a price below MSRP and won't go lower or they are at MSRP? I thought Mossy was selling them below MSRP, and yes, they can through in extras for you.

Actually, I jsut saw a black touring show up at work today from Mossy that I've never seen before. That's not you, is it?

I bought my lil blue baby from Mossy - Kearny Mesa... drove down from LA cause they were the only ones who gave it to me at 200 over invoice... yes thats rite.. 200 over invoice , talk to Butch Peachy, he set me up . Wasn't pushy about warranty, (although the fleet manager was not just pushy, he was in my face every 10 minutes about extended warranty), he finally got the message when i stood up and said "NO EXTENDED WARRANTY'. he kinda looked like the Dad from american pie .. they matched my credit union apr of 3.74% and butch was great in explaining stuff in the car to me ..
overall i give them a 10/10....

best o luck!

lol no me ... yet! So mossy is giving me a deal, they sell them for atleast 1000 below msrp. the one i want (perf lemans o4) is sitting in poway. Im just wondering if i call up the sales guy at kerney mesa who ive been dealing with recently and be like look the car is in poway, i dont want you guys DRIVING it over here, so whats stopping me form going to some shmuck over there and buying from then. What could he (kerney mesa sales guy) possibly throw in or give me a deal on in order to keep me going through him vs another person. Just seems wierd that if the mossy price is set in stone couldnt you in reality buty through ANY sales guy at ANY one of the dealerships without really losing anything? thanks for the replies guys

Default I bought mine at Mossy

Here's how it went:

I initially saw the car I wanted in the web invoice: '04 PPW Track. It was in stock at Mossy Nat'l City. I went by and checked out the car...on the showroom floor.

I live in Scripps Ranch (forgot about Poway), anyway, I test drove a Performance Z at Mossy Kearny Mesa. I asked the sales guy about the one at Nat'l City. He said they could bring it up. I waited a couple of days, then called Mossy KM and said, "let's do it." This was after I dealt with a sales guy at Nat'l City.

He got the car up there in a couple of hours...yes, he drove it up. I inspected the car, and then made the deal.

I asked to see the invoice, and indeed, got it for $1000 under MSRP, no haggle. For this particular car, however, that was $2000 over invoice, not $200...you might want to confirm the invoice.

Be forewarned, they REALLY push the extended warranty, LoJack, and the teflon wax job. It took an hour of "NO's!," and finally threatening to call off the deal before they backed off on these overpriced additions (which, incidentally, make big bucks for the dealership). Be careful, when they go through their little computer program that calculates the price, payments, etc., they enter "yes" on these initially and "give you the option" to remove them later. It is really a "slieght of hand" trick!

They'll tell you it only adds about $25 a month to your monthly payment. Guess what...when they took these items out of the calculation, my payment went down by $70 per month!

There is nothing stopping you from going directly to the dealership that has the car. Likewise, there is nothing stopping you from going to any of the Mossy's and having the car brought to you.

Regarding puchase location as a leveraging tool for options, etc., I don't know, I didn't try.

Good luck!

You'll want to avoid Torrance Nissan (Power) at all costs. Talked to a couple sales people there, one who didn't know anything about the car he was trying to sell me, another who pretended to know nothing about the car he was trying to sell me. Creepy "try to be your buddy" manager, and crappy pricing. The Gardena one is 10 minutes away from it.
