Default Car cover: Should I take it everywhere?

I'm going to be getting my 350Z soon, and from what I've heard about all the attention you guys get from your car, it's starting to make me nevous. I was wondering, should iput the car cover on everytime I go to the store or leave the car in a parking lot for a long period? I wouldn't want to return to my car to find someone's name scratched in it.

No, you do not want to do that. You should only cover a perfectly clean car, even dust from driving on the paint under the cover will and can scratch the finish.

Also if you cover the car in a parking lot, you will to the reverse of what you want to do, being you will attract MORE attention to "what's under the cover" type of gawkers.

Just part away from everyone all the time.

I agree. Covering your car in an open parking lot will only warrant unwanted interest in what's underneath.

Additionally, as was mentioned above, covering even a mildly dusty car is counterproductive to keeping the car's finish glossy and shiny.

My experience has been to park your car conscientiously with plenty of space on either side of you. Whatever you do, DO NOT take up more than one space. This is almost guaranteed to draw unwanted attention to your car since doing so pisses most people off.

I cover my car when I am away from home and parking overnight in a public place. I cover my car dirty or clean. This car draws too much attention. Covering it is a way of hiding it from punks that will want to key your car.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, that the car would draw more attention with no cover on. I plan to pick up the car this Saturday, so I'll see how much attention it draws without a cover, then try it with the cover. Either way, I need to get a cover to put on the car while it's in the garage. Any idea on a good cover brand to get?
