Default Brand new car and Zaino

My new car is arriving via truck to my door. I am a Zaino user and just want to know if i need to start from the begining stage of Zaino use or not. Meaning dawn soap wash and claybar. Do i really need to do that or just skip that step?

yes, yes, yes.

You have to start with the Dawn wash to remove all previous detail jobs. I know its new, but there is some type of wax already on your paint.

After that I would highly recommend a clayabar right after washing with dawn, so its smooth, then you can rewash and start the Zaino steps.

Its okay to Zaino the clear bra, just be careful on the edges especially the one on the hood.

Then start the steps young Jedi, GL and enjoy your new Z.

do we still need to use z5 before z2 on new cars?? or we can just do: z6, z2 w/zfx, z6, z2 w/zfx, then a final layer of z2 alone, ends with z6?

Its good stuff, I was like you and thought that people just hyped it up. So i ordered it per dr bonz.
Then i spent about 2 days working on it.
The first time i wet the car after using the zanio water wouldnt even stand on the car. It simply ran off in. When i was in the rain and stopped for red lights the water on my roof would all run off in all directions of my car. Water cannot stand on a car with this stuff so Im sure that it protects the car perfectly.
To answer the question of using z5, I did for my first time and believe it helped so id use it.

Yes, it is. Look on the web site or call, they should be able to find a dealer near you.

I did my first layer last night, spent about 2 hours. finished around midnight. Got a little cold today but I think it's worth it.
I just did a z2 w/ ZFX. going to z6 it and then maybe z5 it to see if it makes a diff, it can't hurt anywayz.

Oh yeah, I didn't believe that I was going to be able to do the whole car with just one onuce of z2, guess what, it did, and I had a little bit of left over too.

It sounds like you're putting it on right!

I found that it looked noticably better after every coat. Let us know if you agree.

i always have trouble using the right amount of z6 i feel like i wipe off too much, or that the micro fiber towel is just soaking up what i just put down...don't get me wrong, i will always be a zaino user, i just feel like i cannot master the z6.

also i put z-5 on alot, should i not? is that just taking off what i had put under it?

Z5 layers, so more coats is good.

Here's a hint about Z6: Don't spray the car, spray the MF towel. I take a small towel, fold it in quarters so it's square. Spray towel, wipe a body panel. With a separate towel, wipe dry. Repeat on next body panel. Very economical, and very evenly spread.

BTW: Dr. Bonz disagrees with me on the Z6 technique, but I find it works well and heck, what does he know???

thanks for the help, that sounds like a good idea, curious as to why the good Dr. will give us a reason to dissent?

I don't think he would say my technique is wrong, but he sprays the car. Not a big deal.

This is my first post. Got my black Z last Friday. Of course it started snowing yesterday! With a new finish, can I use the finish lok and Z2 in cold wheather? Is there a better combo?

You should check the FAQ on zainostore.com. I remember there being a recommended low temperature but I'm thinking it's in the 50's. I'm not sure. The term Finish Lok is unusual; it sounds familiar but I can't remember which it refers to; are you talking about Z1 or ZFX?

You should definitely use ZFX or Z1 on the first coat or two. Check the FAQs, check the posted protocols. Most people (me included) recommend Z5 (if you have it) the first couple of coats before you start with the Z2.
