Sup guys. I'm fixing to get me some Zaino and I've been reading up on the stuff. Can't wait!! I wanna do it right so needed some advice and questions answered.

1. Can Zaino be applied in direct sunlight? I have a garage but reading the application process makes it seem like Zaino drys faster w/ some heat.

2. Will the ZFX overcome the humidity and still accelerate the drying process?

3. Where do yall buy your towels? Do you use towels to dry your car?

4. Do any of you use a porter-cable to apply/remove Zaino? If so, what pads do yall use?

Any other tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Oh, BTW I live in Houston.

1 - Yes Zaino can be applied in direct sunlight

2 - Yes ZFX will over come even your humidity issues, but give it some extra time.

3 - Buy your towels at a reputable place(Shameless self promotion here)
and spend a few extra pennies buying quality, in the end they are worth it.

4- Using a Porter Cable is adding extra work. Zaino is best applied by hand. If you do very thin, and I mean VERY thin. you should not have to work hard at putting it on or removing it.
You are spreading a liquid, not rubbing into the paint, so application should not be a physical effort. If the coat is thin, it should come right off with the minimum of physical exertion.
This should not be an exercise in stretching your physical abilities

If you head over to my site SJZAINO TIPS , I have very detailed instructions that you can download, especially when dealing with the Clay Bar. I have found that scares people the most, and it shouldn't.

Glad to see you're back Doc. I began to get worried that you abandoned My350Z for something else.

No, I've just been occupied with other things. I've been active over at 350Zfrenzy.com all along. One of these days I'll put a thread together explaining it all. My car is under cover for the winter. Current Zaino layer count holding at 83

I use Zaino too but am thinking about changing back to Meguiars because Zaino sucks at covering up any little marks on the car. I like the shine and how it last longer on the paint, but it suck how you can not use anything else with the wax they have because they say it will mess up how it sticks. It would be great if Zaino could come up with a polish like Meguiars that I could use with the Zaino Wax to get out the scratches and not cover them up. If anyone can tell me a good way to keep Zaino and get rid of scratches it would be nice. I know Dr. Bonz knows some ways to get around this since he is a elder at using Zaino (The great wise one)

Doc, does the shine get any better at this point? I would think that there is a "peak" at a certain layer count but do you notice a better shine with every layer even at 80+?

I think I would concentrate on what is causing your paint scratching? I have owned the same black car since 1997 and I never scratch it up...

Well I think I do the same process as anyone. I first start off by washing all the dirt off. I have a rinse bucket to rinse off the Lamb Wool Mitt between wipes so no dirt gets in the clean water with soap. I then dry the car with a blower and get all the left over water with a waffle towel. I then apply the wax with a terry cloth applicater. I wipe off the wax with a DF towel. I don't have alot of scratches, just alittle one on the back near the wing from where my girl droped her keys on the car. And the roof has acouple little ones I think I can not tell if it is scratches or just the flake finsh on the silverstone. There are sometimes water spots on it from the sun being out during the rain. Thats the main problem with Zaino, it won't fix them. Could I try to use Meguiars polish and then use the Zaino, will this work. Or do you think Scratch X would work? THanks

If it's through the clear coat and into the paint I don't think anything short of a good sanding and painting is going to get rid of it. You can "cover" it wil polish as you said but polish can only do so much.

I'm not a paint man so I'd aske one of our resident experts on that.

Also, I don't think you see much difference between layers 50 or 80 for that matter. I just like to use it since it makes the car shine like nothing else! It is protected as well.
