only problem is that it may start you down the path of best polish/wax/topper combo

No, you probably want to practice a little. If you have an old beater, start with it. If not, go to a junk yard and buy an old hood or two. Of if you have a neighbor with a car that looks like it needs some polish on it....

I can see your confusion, but PC doesn't always refer to Personal Computer.

Since this was posted in the detailing section, he is obviously referring to a "Porter Cable" which is a well known brand of random orbital buffer.

doc, have you ever used a pc for zaino application? I would imagine it would waste a lot of zaino

PC's are used to enhance polishes and waxes thru heating/friction...zaino properties are probably more of a "chemical" reaction versus mechanical like most other polishes and waxes

I agree. I think Zaino is better applied by hand.

There's no benefit to applying wax via PC except to save you some energy.

Abrasive polishes need to be applied via machine to break down the abrasive particles or you will create coarse scratches in your clearcoat.

I also agree that Zaino needs to be applied by hand. You can apply Zaino in thin layers and I think you would also waste alot of the product if you use the PC.

Careful on buffing plastic bumbers. You can actually wrinkle the paint. Has to do with the flex additive in paint on plastic parts. Have done this a couple times on previous cars. Looks like a sharpei.
