Default Marks In Paint

I have done everything to my paint that I can and cannot get these watermarks off my paint. You can bairly see them but I know that they are there. Unless someone was examing it very hard then they would probably never know. The paint is really shiney and does not have any swirl marks and scratches (maybe one or two scratches). I think that the Nissan paint most have defects to it. It really sucks if you ask me. I have dawned it and claybared it and polished it to death and still does nothing. I even took it to the dealer to get it out and they said it looked like it was underneath the paint because they said even their best polishes could not get it out. Hope someone can give me some advice. I don't know if I should take the car to the dealer and demand they repaint it.

It is possible that you sealed them in under your wax. You may want to try stripping all your wax off. Not sure what you use but I know that with Zaino people have sealed waterspots in and have had to remove it and start over. That is why they stress so much that you need to remove all waterspots before waxing.

After stripping the wax, you may want to go with a "cleaner/wax".....on the spots with the watermarks...if that is not aggressive enough, you may want to try something more aggressive.....like a "Scatch-X"(Meguiars product) and work on the watermarks before adding any more polish......

Let us know what you decide on and how it turns out!

johanna,

Have those spots been on your car since you bought it or did they just appear recently? How long have you had the car?

What are you using to polish/protect it? What did you use to "polish it to death"?

I don't know if they have been up there since I brought the car, but they have been there for awhile now. I use Zaino on my car. I was using Meguiars Deep Shine Polish and Scratch X. I tried using the Zaino Polish to get rid of them, but didn't even do a dent in them. I will hate to start all over and find out it didn't even work. I know the guy that was trying to get out the Marks at Nissan said that the stuff he was using would take it out, but it didn't even make a difference. I would think that the stuff would have stripped the wax off if it was that tuff.

First, Zaino has no abrasives so it won't remove anything from the paint.

I noticed some spots on my car this weekend after washing. They're not water spots. I can't feel them on the surface either. It almost appears to be a stain of some sort. I'm going to try this weekend to see if I can remove them. I was beginning to think that mine and yours might be the same thing.

Well let me know what you do if you get them out? Mine are not on the surface either. Can't feel them or see them unless under really good light and at a good angle. But dam if I ain't **** about my paint and I see everything. I have a 89 Crx that I got for 1000 bucks to drive back and forth to work and the paint sucks on that and I think even through its just a work car, I want to get it repainted and dents taken out.
