First-time Zaino user - Zaino Newbie!
This morning, it was my first time to use Zaino to take care of my new Z. (also, it's the first time to wax my car after I bought it - yeah..im lazy
)
And here're my steps to wash the car, and I really want to know if its correct?!
1) Use Z-7 to wash it - I feel like its too much to use 1 gallon water mixed with 3 cups of Z-7 to wash the Z.
2) Use claybar to remove the contamination then wash it again - the claybar is really sticky, i just put it on the hood for only a second, it just left some sticky stuff and really hard to remove it. and even worse, it caused a scratch on the hood. (thanx Z-5 to hide it though)
3) Use P21S dry towel to dry it - this stuff is really magic!
4) Then use Z-5 to fill some surface scratches - damn, I just figured that there're more chips on my hood and bumper than I though before.
5) Z-2 to wax - I used only 1 ounce Z-2 mixed with 2 drops of ZFX. is it enough?
I dont think so though!
6) 20 mins wait.....
7) Z-6.......(this part is relatively easy)
All right, after using the "great" Zaino products, I still feel like my car doest look as great as I expected before. (maybe its because of the sliverstone color?!
)
Another ugly thing was...just right after I put everything back to the garage, I saw 3 disgusting spots on the hood and top - the f***ing birds ****!!!
damn...i really hate that...

You put the clay on dry? if you do that the clay will transfer to the paint, always have the paint as wet as you can get it with the clay lube.

Correct

The mixing directions for how many drops is on the back of the ZFX box

It doesn't sound like he clayed correctly. You have to make sure you lube up the paint REALLY WELL before you clay. I use a small pump spray bottle (like an old windex bottle (COMPLETELY cleaned out of course). I fill it with water and add a couple cap fulls of Z-7. You constantly squirt the paint as you clay. I don't recommend doing it in direct sunlight and let the car cool off a bit before you start. Do small 1-2 foot sections at a time and rinse off as you go. Make sure your clay is CLEAN and free of ANY debris. You have to constantly knead the clay to bring a fresh surface to the top. DON'T DROP IT! If you do, get another piece.
As for the ZFX, I use about 4-5 drops in two ounces of Z-2 or Z-5 (the bottles Sal sends you are two ounces) if it is cold or damp outside (high humidity) and I'll use 2-3 drops if it is hot and dry out.
