Default clear coat help

is there any way to add on a clear coat? my clear coat came off trying to get rid of a bad scrape. thanks !

You would have to have a body shop clear the entire panel.

And what exactly do you mean by your clear coat came off? If the scrape was really bad it probably would have been a better idea to use touch up on the spot.

well the scrape is looking pretty good now, its just that the paint is dull now because the clear coat is gone.

A little more info would really help out.

Was the scrape past the color coat? Did your fingernail catch it?

Did you use polish to polish it down? Or did you wetsand it out?

The base coat CAN be polished to shine like clear. Of course this depends on if the transition between the clear and base is smooth or jagged.

If you can get some pics of the spot that would really help out.
Also what color is your car?
