Default Steps to take for a car outside

Just bought a black 05 denali which will be sitting outside. What are the best steps besides wash/zaino to keep it looking nice?

Have a look at the Zanio web site for the procedures but basically its:

Clay bar washdown

Dry using 100% cotton towels - up and down only on the sides - front to rear only on the top/hood/trunk.

Z-5 w/ZXF added - one hour buff as you dried with a clean 100% cotton towel. Z-5 will really help with a black car to fill in the swirls and whirls if you have them.

Repeat a couple of times - it might take you a day to lay down and get three layers of Z-5 to take.

Z-2 w/ZXF added to top it off and make it glow.

Z-6 or -8 to put a high gloss on.

Anything I can do to keep fading to a minimum. Also it has fairly light leather interior, just use lexol about every wash to keep it looking nice?

You're going to hate a black car sitting outside

But just wash regularly with high quality materials (chenille or wool wash mits, high quality towels, 2 bucket system).

Wipe down the interior each time you wash. I wouldn't worry about putting protectant on the interior but every month at the earliest. Keeping it clean really goes a long ways though.

Washing atleast once a week and cleaning bird crap, bugs, and tree sap ASAP is going to be critical.

Did you get the Yukon Denali or the Envoy Denali?

Just buy a house w/ a 2/3 car garage. This will help you out. My Denali XL and my Z sits inside the garage when not in use. My camry stays outside and it gets dirty so fast after you just washed it.

Why would you put a $55,000 suv outside rather than a $35,000 car. Rent a storage space for your boxess, just my 2 cents.

God SUV's are a PITA to hand wash. I hand paste-waxed my old Jeep grand cherokee once... felt like it took all day and it wore out my arms really bad...

I would apply Z6 regularly to the SUV since it has a sun-blocking agent in it. Since Zaino stuff is polymer based, the sun will damage it significantly over time... Z6 for the win.
