Default Blackfire wax and claybar question

I've got one coat of Blackfire polish and 1 of the protectant. I'm washing my SB roadster tonight to get the damn bugs off. To do this, I will need to use a claybar. I'm assuming the claybar will take off the wax? So do I need to add another coat of polish or can I just go right to the protectant step?

Thanks

claybar should take everything off down to the clear coat, waxes included. you will need to add another coat of polish if you desire

Hmm, but is it ok to add a coat of polish over the original coat of protectant?
