Default Odd film on headlights??

I noticed I have this odd film on my headlights that doesn't want to come off. A few of my friends suggested it may be some "protective layer," but I don't think so. Its transparent and its not disrupting the beam at all but its annoying me. The film is the outside and not the inside incase anyone was wondering.

I've even tried claying the head lights with no luck. Has anyone experience the same problem?

Are you referring to the rainbowing effect where there are rainbow-colors in specific patterns on the plastic? No you cannot get that off.

If this isn't what you're talking about, please post pics.

It's a haze that most nissans/infinitis are experiencing. The only way to get rid of it is to use a mild abrasive, a plastic polisher. I have one from meguiars and it works great. Just apply and use some elbow grease w/ a wax sponge and your lights will look like new again.
