Quick & Dirty detailing.....
I have washed and waxed my Chrome Silver Z twice since I got it (last week in August). I don't have allot of time or a garage to detail my car. When I waxed it the last time, I used Meguiairs Gold. I drive my car quite a bit - I have 6900 miles on it now and I drive it all year round. What would be the best wax/process to do to keep a good shine on the car and protect it. Again, I don't have a garage so I am limited on time. I don't want to do the Zaino process becasue my car woul dhave to sit all night outside during the entire process. Is there a 1 -3 step process that I can use. I can pay more money for an easier/quicker wax. Also, will I need to clay my car to get rid of the current wax and contaminants or can I just use Dawn dishwasher detergent. Which wax will give the best result on a Chrome Silver car?? Thanks for your input. Later dayzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Meguiars and Mothers do have a 3 step process, but since the first two steps of the process are mildly abrasive products designed to remove paint damage and so forth, if your paint is in good shape otherwise there would be no need for a three step process.
Also, Zaino is no different in use than most any other wax or polish (vastly different in concept and formulation however) There is no need for the product to set on the surface all night or anything like that. I have many customers who do not have a garage. You put the Zaino on and in a little while you wipe it off just like any other product. "The whole Zaino process" is a vast misconception of the product and its useage. Actually, Zaino would be FAR less work than a three step product as Zaino is a one step product if you do not count the clay baring, but since all companies that make three step products like Meguiars and Mothers also sell and recommend you start with their own brand of clay bars, its a moot point.
Thanks for the input. How long would it take to completely do the Zaino process starting with the clay bar? How many bars would I use on the car the first time? I have heard people talking about putting 12-18 coats of Zaino on their car. Is there a need to do that and will it make that much of a difference in the cars appearance? Thanks,
Silverz: Don't abandon a GREAT product for the sake of a handful of WHACKOS like me!
I have 20 coats and the car looks great. After I put on the FIRST coat, THE CAR LOOKED GREAT! You don't have to do what I do. You just have to admire in jaw dropping awe, my Brickyard Track when I post pics!
Add the ZFX and it's quick and easy. You don't really need a garage. You'll only need one claybar per car for your first clay session. If you order the Zaino one, they give you two.
Whatever you decide, good luck and GO FOR IT!
