Where did you order it from? I need to do something. Super black is a pain. I have been using Maguire's, but it doesn't seem to have that perfect shine.

Thanks guys! The store that sells Blackfire happens to be 2 miles from my office. I am leaving to go pick the kit up now. What are the chances of that?

Please post your results, and what color you are using it on. As you know, there has been lots of talk about BF on this forum. Nice to have those guys right down the street.

Thanks....

I bought the New Car Kit. My Z is Super Black. It made it shine like never before! The stuff is incredible. Only now I can notice more orange peel in the paint! I guess I'm never happy.

I will post pictures tomorrow.

I have yet to see any posts on how long the Blackfire "lasts". Maybe you can post back in a month or two and let everyone know how it's holding up.

I have been using Blackfire for 3 months now. The new formula is incredible! Since I take special care of my Z. I'll give you an example of my Wrangler. Since my wrangler is for compition and the body damage is an eyesore. I decided to clean it before going to Tellico. Despite the comments from my other 4wheeling buddies. I have never seen any product hold up as long as Blackfire. I have only waxed it once which was about 2 months ago. For a vehicle never being waxed before this did the trick. Application was a breeze and still has maintain a durable, slick finish after a dozen washes and water crossings I have never seen a product live as long as BF. This product truely lives up to its name.

My question to you is how long do you go between waxes? I don't go more than a few weeks, and so far no problem.

Blackfire is a polymer, so it's life should be 4 - 5 months. If you use a detailing spray after in-between washes, it should last twice as long.

It depends on the "wax" and how easy it is to apply and how long it lasts. Once per month is a good target. Currently I use Zaino.

Blackfire versus Zaino?!

Seems like you guys use Blackfire. I've been hearing about Zaino alot but seems more expensive then Blackfire.

Any thoughts on quality for price? I'm not a penny pincher but I also don't like throwing money away either.

Your thoughts? tanx

I think Zaino & Blackfire are a lot alike in what they do and how they do it; both polymers instead of waxes. One big problem: they both do the job so well that whichever one you try first you swear by it and will never switch!

I've heard Zaino is more expensive, but I'm not sure how true that is. Blackfire new car kit is $45.00, I spent around $100 including shipping to get started with Zaino, but I got one of almost everything; you can get started for much less than that. Here's how the cost broke down for me:

Z2 polish $13
Z6 finishing spray $10
Z7 car wash $08
Z12 Glass polish $13
Z16 rubber & trim $13
Z18 claybar $17
ZFX Accellerator $20
S&H $07
Total $101

You could EASILY get started with just Z2, Z6, Z7, Z18 & ZFX and with S&H that would be $75. Still more expensive than Blackfire, but Blackfire doesn't give you claybar (which I firmly believe is a great first step to physically remove particles from the paint) or finishing spray for that $45.00. They do give you microfiber towels and applicator pads.

I looked at the pics on the Blackfire website & they look a lot like the pics of Zaino finishes I've seen! I think bottom line is that they are both excellent solutions, you'll probably be happy with it whichever one you choose.

Thanks for the tips bhobson333!

I'm leaning towards the Zaino cause I want the wet look versus the satin look that Blackfire advertises.

I'm going to start with the kit you mentioned. All and all, $75 is not bad at all, especially for the results.
