Default Best handheld vac to buy?

I have a great Dyson home vac that I am getting sick of dragging outside to vacuum out the interior and trunk. But I dont own a handheld and havent even looked at them since my parents first bought a crappy Dustbuster 20 years ago. I look at some at the store this weekend, seems most of them run under $50 or so. Any recommendations or things to look for?

Recommended: I have a 20 year old Hoover that does an exceptional job. Uncertain about Hoover’s current models.

Not recommended: I also use a Dirt Devil. The noise is incredible. It’s a wonder that I’m not deaf.

My brother has a small handheld I think it's called "the shark". It's powerful as heck, but it's very loud. I personally use a shop vac.

Another idea is to keep an eye for a cheap canister or upwright w/hose attachments. Keep an eye out at Sears...they usually have a small canister style vac on sell every week or so.

I have the Shark handheld rechargeable. Its pretty good for a small rechargeable vac. I use it for car shows etc. If my car is very dirty I always pull out the Shop Vac.
