Try distilled vinegar. It will help remove mineral deposits which is what those are. You can also try a clay bar.

Good luck

I dont know what you guys did, but Vinegar did not work for me. Is there a certain way to apply it. I just soaked a rag with a bit, and started rubbing one out... nothing. Stupid water marks drive me crazy, especially bc they are on my mirrors!!!!!!

Try wetting a cotton cloth or a paper towel then lay it flat on the surface of the glass. Leaving it there for a few minutes will keep the window/mirror wet with the vinegar so it has time to work.

Really badly etched windows/mirrors can be polished. I don't remember the name of the stuff but I got something from a glass shop several years ago that worked great. It was basically polishing compound for glass.

If you have a heavy buildup of spots on your windows, it may take more than one wipedown with vinegar to remove it. Soak a cloth in vinegar and spread the cloth out on the window and leave it sit for a while. That will keep it coated in vinegar so it has more time to work.

Try ZAINO clear-view glass polish. Please excuse the bold type, but this stuff is great. I had a stubborn buid-up of water marks on our driveway car. I tried 3 recommended products from auto stores--none of which worked. I also tried vinegar which had little or no effect (glad it worked for others). Then someone on the forums recommended Zaino. I ordered it from their website and it was like a miracle. Wonderful product. It will leave a lot of dust, so be prepared and try to keep it away from the moldings. Good luck.

Screw all that. Go get some Liquid Glass, it's about $17 a bottle. It will not only EASILY take off the spots but will bind with the glass and will make the water bead off your glass like crazy.

Oh, and it's the best polymer wax I've found. No complicated instructions like Zaino, just rub it on, wait for it to dry, and then wipe it off. You can put it on glass, plastic, metal, paint, dirt, crack ******, old tennis shoes, plastic garbage bags, 7-week old placentas, whatever...

Complicated instructions? Zaino glass polish is also rub on, let dry, wipe off, but it is good to know of alternatives. Sounds like Liquid Glass may be more versatile though. I may give it a try once the Zaino runs out, but I'm quite happy.

I read awhile ago about distilled water being able to prevent water spots. Is this true?

Yes, distilled water will prevent you from getting them. The problem is that most people get them from rain, sprinklers, etc.
