Default Getting prepared for winter...

My Z is a daily driver and winter is quickly approaching. Virginia winters are quite ugly with plenty of ice, freezing temps, and salted roads. I'm wondering if there is anything I can do now to prepare my paint for the upcoming months.

The best protection I've found is a few coats of Zaino before winter sets in. It generally lats me until the winter breaks to really clean it up right. I will usually just take the car to a quarter wash and spray the salt off as it needs it.

+1

I used to use Zymol Carbon, would last like 3 weeks.... I.ve herd so much about Zaino, I had to try it... Today; I started out with Menzerna IP Orange pad and PC, then FPII and a white pad.... Topped of with Z5....

In the two years I've owned this car I've never seen a shine like this! It was so deep, I noticed the stuble on my face (Super Black Z)... It not only made the car look blacker and weter, it had a dept to it which I've not seen before. One more coat of Z5 then maybe Z2... I'll be set for the winter.

Being that I live in the NE... I don't think I'll go back to a wax again...

1. Good coat of wax.
2. Lubricate door hinges, hood spring lock, stuff like that.
3. Wax the wheels.
4. When its too cold for a hand wash, a pressure spray wash will suffice. I like the kind that you drive over and it sprays water under the car.
5. Wax the windows and all lights (snow and ice less apt to stick).
6. Clean wiper blades with silicone lubricant.
7. Now is the time for a battery check.
8. That no-freeze stuff in the windshield wiper reservoir.

Have a happy winter.
