Default 18 Inch rim care...

I keep sliceing my hand open every time I clean my Touring rims. Either on the edges of the spokes or the brake calipers.. blood all over the place...

Does this Z need a little blood to drive better? Or am I spilling mine just cause I love the car so much?

What are you guys doing to not get all cut up?

yup flat hand, but if you have fat hands you might not be able to avoid it. I got a "tire scrubber" which is basicly like a brillo pad on a stick. hopefully itll save my hands a little.

but yeah I keep the insides clean. in an area where weight is huge, Id imagine the caking of dust on the inside of the rims has to add up eventually.

Either use a tire scrubber or get some dish washing gloves. Not too sexy, but at least it cuts down on the hemorrhage.

I use an old sheepskin wash mitt. It gets caught occasionally on the caliper but really cleans all surfaces of the wheels.

I've been using work gloves to avoid slicing my knuckles. But there's always one spoke opening in each wheel that's near the caliper -- too tight with the gloves on.

I have an idea: how about using a dish washing brush, like one for cleaning inside glasses? I'll have to look for one at Wal Mart next time.

Default do you ?

get the dust off right behind the spoke and do you also wipe down the black hub and silver hub at the center of the rim.. I do and the wheel looks very nice without the water spots...

so I lose a little skin... I may cant my front tires before wasing to get behind the rim...
