I asked a local shop for ClearBra install and I got quoted $995 for the following:
Front bumber
Hood
Headlights
Mirrors
Door Edges


Now what is essential and what is overkill? I only had front bumber, headlights, and partial hood in mind.

 

for 995 you can have the bumper repainted at least 2x.

Consider that.

 

I'm going with the repaint plan myself but for if I was going clearbra, and based on the 30,000 on the Brick, I would do bumper, headlights, and mirrors.

I've picked up a couple nicks on the hood but not enough for clearbra, imo.

 

That price sounds high. There was a local guy who posted here recently that he got the 3M done for a little over $600.

I agree with you that bumper, partial hood and headlights are all you really need. That said - I have a couple little nicks all the way up my hood just inches from the windshield. If you really wanted to be picky about it, you'd have to do the whole car!

 

+1 Anything over $600, they are overcharging. That's what I was quoted for doing the same except they included the front fenders as well. I don't see why you would need the door sides unless you plan on dinging some other cars.

 

I paid had my windows tinted and the clear bra put on the bumper, hood, headlights, and mirrors for $650. It is worth the money. I have had the car for over a year now and not a single nick or scratch.

you should cover any impact areas. I have the full bumper, headlights, front of fenders, hood, mirrors and splash guards. As others stated you can get it professionally done for $600. Well worth it.

 

When searching for clear bra applications, it is crucial to find a company with the following:

-credentials: "what have they worked on other than my vehicle" (the more expensive the better because high-end car owners expect nothing, but the best)
-pricing in general reflects the type of work that is produced (companies that chg less obtains business through a lower pricing structure than those who provide quality work)
-ask for references

 

i personally am not a fan of clear bra. i have seen it on a car and i dont like the way it looks. just leave it be and if it gets to be very bad down the line just have it repainted like some have said.

 

I had just my bumper done for around $400. I have been extremely pleased. 16,500 miles and not a mark on the bumper. Howerever, the film requires care. Apply Plexus to the film everytime you wash the car to keep it looking like new.

You know you are at the right shop when you see that there are new from the dealership Ferraris waiting for aplication!
