I feel your pain. You try your hardest to keep the car flawless and the fricken curb thing happens. It happened to me last week. I have the silverstone color and it scraped it bare to the black plastic. I've picked up the touch up and paint pen from Nissan, but haven't applied it yet. I'm not to sure on the best way to aplly. The plastic is also kinds rough now. Do I sand it smooth and then paint???

I would go pick some touch up paint and wet sand paper. Do you have a D.A. or Rotary by chance? I think it's carcareonline that has a good write-up on the web. I would also call CMA or another detail shop for more advice.

This has happen to me, I have a Chrome Silver. I have tried to build up the deep, to the rubber, gouges but I have never been able to match the finish with either touch up paint bottle or pen.

You may have better luck with the black color than I have had with the chrome silver.

I have tried building it up slowly but on bare rubber it appears not to stick. Several coats later , brush marks start to build up. The gouge is about 5 by 20 mm, a present from a shopping cart.

Sorry but it may have to go to the pros.

I got a couple of references for pro in Pfugerville or south Austin.

I have to finish touching up the ding I put in my spoiler, but I used the combo pen from courtesy parts to put one layer over it.

I filled in the hole with some 30 minute epoxy, using soft plastic scrapers to smooth out the hole. I put in about 5 layers, and it ended up pretty smooth, without sanding. I am still not sure if I am going to sand it or not (I am afraid).

Even if you do wet sand take it slow. The clearcoat on our cars is very thin.
