Why is the myth that you have to do a gazillion coats of Zanio still around? You don't. You can get the car a bit deeper shine if you do a few coats, but you don't have to. You don't even have the option with NXT because it won't layer due to the cleaner included. It would just partially remove the first coat to even bother.
Also, it isn't that expensive, and you don't have to use every product on their website.
I've used both. Zanio lasts much longer and in my experience comes off easier, so in the end, it takes much less of my time to keep it up to my standards.
Nothing wrong with NXT. I'll use it on my mom's or my girlfriend's car, but I'm not using it on the Z.

Thanks for the props!! Zaino steps are very simple and easy...
1. Wash car w/ dawn (one time deal)
2. Clay bar (per instructions)
3. Rewash car with regular car wash (can use fancy stuff...NO DAWN)
4. Apply 1 oz (One not more) of Z2 w/ ZFX (Z5 if your car is dark) & allow to
dry (over night or not)
5. Remove with big blue towel (I use an orbital buffer)
6. Spray with Z6 or Z8
7. Get camera and start your own photo studio. Call friends and family to
see your baby
8. Get ready for all the attention
9. Repeat steps 4-8 as often as you like.
10. Enjoy your shiny Z!!
I wash more than I polish. My car is 23 months old and has 23 coats period ( a mix of either Z2 or Z5). One coat a month...here's the pictures in question:

I agree the above is the optimal way to do it, but you can still get great results using it just like you'd use NXT, and it would last probably 3 or 4 times as long in my experience. I've done it both ways on different cars. Even only putting a coat on by itself, Zaino will last months longer than NXT. NXT wasn't beading water much longer than a month IME, Zaino for 4-6 depending on if the car is garage kept.

As for posting in the proper forum, there is "new posts" in every forum. Just please try to stay in the topical areas, it makes searching easier in the future, and will save the flaming that typically happens in the main forum when people repeatively post stuff there like "what exhaust is best" or "if I put a cheap turbo on and run 22 psi boost, can, like, I beat my buddy's STI, yo?".
If you didn't notice, Registered User, I put a big smilie on the end of my sentence about moving your post because I didn't think it was a big deal. I was far from stressed. If it stressed me to move threads, I'd have given up mod status a long time ago. Don't get bent. It's all good.

I personally like to start with a good claying and do a couple of layers at a time because it goes on and off so fast anyway. I can do a coat on the Z in 15 minutes and wipe it off in 5 after going inside to take a break while it cures. The Z is a really easy car to wax. However, I've tried it on my older cars just putting it on "raw" and only using one coat, and it works and lasts great. As good? Nope, but it definitely doesn't require all the TLC and side products if you don't want to go that far.
Again, I'm not bashing NXT. I've used it and it's better than, say, Gold Class (which I used for several years on my other car). It just doesn't last as long as Zaino, which is a very important thing in my choice of what to use.

There ARE people in the middle that I think get intimidated by the Zaino love around here.

1. better show room like shine
2. easier to apply and remove
3. you use less then you would with other waxes
4. lasts longer
cons:
1. bit more expensive (but when you have to apply so small amounts and it last longer, the difference in cost is all but negated)
2. can only purchase online
3. you have to take the extra whole minute to mix with ZFX

NXT pros:
1. cheaper then Zaino
2. can purchase at your local walmart
3. no mixing involved
4. better then your average wax
Cons:
1. doesnt last as long as Zaino
2. doesnt look as good as Zaino
3. might have to use a bit more when applying
4. you can layer it like Zaino
i was a bit buzzed when typing this so excuse any grammatical or spelling mishaps
the problem with zaino is its hard to get ur hands on.... aka if it were available in normal stores i prob would try it.... I just like thats nxt is easy to use (compared to other waxes) lasts long (that is in my opinion) smells good, and does a good job.
Im savin up to try this zaino....
I told rajan to wash clay his car w/e with zaino.. and ill just to nxt and we will compare with picutres the next day. But i dont think thats happening since he "vagina'd" out =P

That's what I'm talking about!! IMO, the flecks in the PPW stand out a lot more with Zaino!
I'm using both on my Super Black - I used Zaino for the first year and just recently have clay bar/3M swirl remover/ZX-F the thing and laid NTX technical on. It's really hard to tell one mirror shine from the next so I left the hood un-done and have put two coats of NXT down on the drivers 1/3. I'll put Z-2 and Z-6 in the middle and Z-5/Z-2 and Z-6 on the passenger's side and see if there's a visible difference.
Ok, so the minimum I would need is the Z5+ZXF combo, Z-6?
I already have meguair's gold class soap and meguair's last touch detailing spray.
Can i subsitute the Z7 for the gold class soap and the Z6 for the last touch detailing spray?
Will this work? or do you guys reccommend getting the starter kit ZKIT-1?
That includes:
1. ZFX™ Flash Cure Accelerator Additive

5. Z-7™ Show Car Wash
6. Z-18™ ClayBar
