Default Z owners without access to own garage

I live in apartment complex and its too dark in the underground parking to do any detailing. Where' do u guys do your detailing? I'm thinking at a coin car wash. Its covered but at least its out of the sun. People waiting for the carwash stall get pretty mad at me though when I spend 3 hrs washing, drying, and detailing the car.

Got no friends with a house and a driveway? I go to a friend or to my parents to wash/detail my car.

A bucket of soap and water at the car wash is a bad idea. Angry people get crazy. Not worth the risk.

I have been lucky over the years because I have always had access to hose and water at a military installation.

It should not be too difficult to wash the car, then find a place with shade for waxing. Just park on the north side of any tall building.

Many types of wax state Do not use in direct sunlight or on hot surface. I lived in Arizona and washed and waxed the car at night.

I wash with waterless washes and I polish by using halogens. You can get 500w single or double halogen stands for reasonably prices at local car parts stores.

Some of those waterless car washes rule!

For those of you who don't know about them, they are basically like quick detailing spray but 20x better! I used to use one that was ionized or whatever and it repelled dust! When dust sits on your car, you can litteraly remove it by blowing on your car, it was awesome

+1 for washing/waxing in the evening and using halogens

Yep - some folks are a little put off by the idea of not pre-soaking or rinsing a car, but I've been using QEW and Opt No Rinse for years now on mine and customer vehicles with no issues whatsoever. They both also double as qd's in the right mix of water, plus they're cheap per use.

3hrs is a long time. I do the bucket was thing at the quarter wash. takes about 20mins tops, then move the car to the vacuum section and comense drying, ect... no problems.

^^that sucks!

I use a car wash, but strictly for the water/rinse. I hand wash with the soap then rinse off the car again.

First time I tried this I learned my first lesson. Go to the wash with a bucket already full of water and soap. Trying to fill your bucket up with a high pressure hose and soap is just a disaster!

Yeah! I use to use the same stuff back in the day but I can't find it anymore. That stuff was greats for quick detailing jobs.
