I will be getting my Z beginning of April, just outside of New Orleans and then driving home to Virginia. I am not going to have the chance to give it a good Zainoing before the road trip, and I am wondering if I should do anything different upon the first application when I get home. I have been reading the thread with all the Zaino questions to get some ideas. So far, I have come up with this: get home and use unscented Dawn then claybar, then unscented Dawn again before beginning the process. Any other ideas? How to get the bugs off safely? I would love suggestions for the exact steps to follow, product to remove bugs etc., and a good towel to use (currently have the Absorber). Thanks!

 

Do a search under "Detailing Session" by poster Brad4rdHay. He did an 8 part series on complete car care. Someone, I think VQracer, compiled them into 1 thread but I can't find it.

 

Negotiate with the dealer to throw in a bra.

Don't forget to vary your coasting speed to break it in gently.

 

I'd have the dealer or nearby body shop throw on a decent coat of wax before drivng 1100 miles.
