Attention Atlanta Z owners
What are you waxing your 350 with zanio or blackfire? I have a Chrome Silver Touring, and would like to know which one works best on that color. Also, is there another tint shop besides Hotspot Tinting, that tints without removing the door panals. I live in Dallas and work in Cobb, and I am willing to travel to find a quailty shop that tints without removing the panals. I feel if the door panals are removed it would ruin the integrity of the car.

dude hot spot is THE BEST place in georgia, maybe the southeast, removing the door panel wont hurt anything, they know EXACTLY how to remove it, and it lets them tint the ENTIRE window way below the seal to ensure it wont peel up. they hand cut the whole thing from solid sheets no edges at all. dont worry about removing the door panel...
if you are really worried, ask, they just wont do it... but that would be kinda dumb, the door panel comes off with like 3 screws, and goes back on good as new.
anyway, I use zaino, Ive just heard good things, never heard of blackfire till after I purchased zaino. not sure which is "better" but you wont be disappointed with either Im sure.

i understand your concern with removing the door panels. one of my fears came to light with the aforementioned tint place. overall the tint job was good. however, when they took apart my driver door, they managed to strip one of the screws. therfore the door panel was loose. they never mentioned this to me. i realized this as i was driving home. anyway, i just took it apart, went to home depot, and got a replacement screw for $0.89. no big deal. i never even mentioned it to them. but yeah it irritated me. i guess you could always ask them to not take the door panel off. im sure they dont do that to every car. it just so happens that the guy that takes the door panels off drives a nissan and is very familiar with them. like i said, they were very nice and overall a good job.
I can only imagine they are removing the door panels since the windows move down that half inch when they are open, this is easily circumvented by simply unscrewing the door switch and the window moves back up to full up position with the doors still open. Ferraris and BMWs have been like this for years and we have done more of these than I can count at our shop this way, you might make light of this to this shop you wish to have yours done at.
they are aware of that as well. they do this too, they get WAY under the seal, even in your scenario thats tho only way you wouldnt have a line when the door is closed, but the seam would be right therer, and would rub on the seal every time you open your door. in their method they get a good bit lower than you could ever hope to without taking the door off.
they also remove the 3rd brake light cover, but thats only snapped on, no big deal there either.

actually no, we dont cut our seams above the door seals on any car we tint. We cut 1/2 inch over than pull the seal back and squeegee the excess down below the seal. Your right, any seam above the seal will catch ,this is nothing really special and every tint shop does it this way(at least in this area) In any case, theres more than one way to skin a cat, and if this shop does good tint and keep there customers happy than more power to them, I just think it a bit odd to have to take the added time/risk pulling off a door panel to install tint below the seal that can be done just as effectivly with the panel on
Hotspot is pretty good
Only complain I have is that 3 of my windows have bubbles. That is not cool.
The front strip has a 1" bubble
The rear drivers side window has a 1/2" strip bubble
The back window has a 1" strip bubble
Do you think I should drive the 65miles back there for them to fix it or are they going to tell me to go away?

Hey guys, I wanted to get something straight.
The tint job is great and the service at Hotspot is even better! They were the best deal in town and the most friendly folks Ive ever worked with. Bridget will go out of her WAY to help you by whatever means neccessary. I get complements on the tint job every time someone see's the car.
Shoot, she offered to drive TO MY HOUSE to fix those little bubbles. They are tiny, but Im just a perfectionist. They are prolly still there since my car hasnt seen the sun in over a month and they never had a chance to dry out. In a sense its probobly my fault
For all you that emailed and PMed me, I suggested you DO GO to Hotspot. Every person who has contacted me, and all my friends have been told to go there.
Sorry this post came out negative toward them. It really was meant quite the opposite.
