Default First Wax Job. Pics and Questions inside! (56k warning)

So I finally got around to waxing my lady. I used Megiular's Gold Class liquid wax. I wasn't 100% how to apply since the steps seemed pretty vague. I used the applicator pad with a drop or two of the wax to cover about 1.5-2 square feet of the car. After I was done, I buffed with a microfiber cloth. Now, my car is brand new still, so it was hard for me to tell the difference really to difference. However, soon after it rained and the water was beading off nicely off the car .

So my first question is, how much area of coverage should I have with a few drops of the wax on the applicator pad? Second question is how do you clean the applicator pad after you finished using it? Warm water and dishwashing soap? How many times should I use the applicator pad before its more damage than good?

Ok..pics of the **** (pics were taken after a couple of days of rain post the wax job..):

Looks good. Of course all new cars look good. I don't care for applicator pads because they accumulate dirt too fast.

^^haha..yeah..true. Remember, it rained for a few days before I could wax the car. hell..it rained like 2 hours after I finished washing her! Go figure.

I do think sealant on top of wax is overkill. Only need one or the other.
