Mine works very well, no water spots. I change the filter every 4 washes.

I've heard a lot of people say it leaves a filmy residue, take the extra 5 minutes and wash it the right way.

It really works. Use it whenever and do one real wash once a week. Does what it says doesn't leave spots. 20 bucks not bad.

I have also noticed a slight film being left behind and the hotter the day the less desireable the reslts from my experience.

I bought the Mr Clean kit a couple of weeks ago and have used it twice on my MB Z, it works as advertised. You still do not want to wash the car in the dead afternoon heat/sun, get the car in the shade and let it cool down first.

The starter filter does not have a color indicator "thingy" telling you when to change the filter...but the replacement filters do. I have not had any problems with a leftover film, and use Meg Nxt Wax to finish things up...the car looks fantastic (for 2 or 3 hours anyways until everything within a 10 sq mile radius starts clinging to my car again :~) ).

I actually had to use a distilled vinegar/water mix (50/50) to get the hard water spots off from prior washing/rain/etc.

I highly recommend it!

Shortly after it came out, several guys on the forum gave it a try. Initially, they reported back with somewhat favorable impressions. After a couple month of using Mr. Clean, most if not all abandoned it for the reason listed above. It left a residue or film that seemed to dull the finish.

^^not to mention the replacement filters go fast (2 maybe 3 washes) and cost like $10+ for 2

I have used one for the last year because of the horribly hard water we have here and will continue to use it. I don't actually let it dry by itself, I dry it normally but it sure beats rinsing the whole car with a 2.5 gallon jug of distilled water to keep if from spotting.

I noticed one thing in the instructions that I thought was a little odd. It tells you to store in an upright position after you are done using it, or the soap that is still in the spray gun may leak out.

I made sure that I ran all of the unused soap out of the compartment and then filled it up a couple times with distilled water and ran it some more. I wonder if what is going on with guys a couple months down the line is the byproduct of soap sitting/gunking up the spray gun because it is not in a sealed container or something.

^^The above is TOTAL guesswork on my part, I will report back in a couple months whatever the results are.

I have used it and it works if you do it right. But, it can never compare to a hand car wash.

When I use it I really like it. But yeah, the soap leaks out of the sob no matter how you store the thing. I just use it for drying the car now.

is the spot free deal just a function of the filtered mist that you finish up with? or does the soap itself have something to do with it also?

If I lay mine on it's side with the soap fill cap facing up, I have no leaking issues, any other direction is a nightmare.

Anyone notice how gross their hands look after washing the car with it. Normally my hands are clean after washing a car but with this thing I end up with this odd grease in my finger prints and cuticles.

Used it once and wasn't impressed.

Same reasons listed above: Filmy residue that left streaks.

I much prefer to use Meguiars Gold Class shampoo and take the extra 5 minutes to clean my cars right.
