which wax/polish is your favorite??
I have tried many many over the years and Zaino is my polish of choice. Time consuming but worth ever second when people ask how did you get your car to shine like that!! My wife just tells them i'm a cleaning nut, i'm always in the garage cleaning the cars!
NXT...local Zaino rep came to a vette mod party at a friend's house. After he did two cars he remarked they still didn't gleem with the depth mine did-----------He ASSUMED I used Zaino!!!
All waxes are good the difference is in the prep work--wash, clay, even application and removal, nooks/crannies and a shot of detailer spray to lock it down.

I use almost all Meguiars products: their NXT line, which includes the cleaner wax, paste wax, and spray wax.
I have heard and read a lot about Zaino products, but it seems SO confusing b/c there are so many (too many?) products.
Consumer Reports says the bext wax for the money is the liquid wax from "Black Magic".

For the most part, the Consumers Report comparison was for the basic over-the-counter products that you can find at any autoparts store or even Wal-Mart. Zaino and some of the other high end products weren't compared. The definitive comparison on car wax/polish was done by Guru Reports a couple years back. I trust their judgement long before CU even though I am a long time CU subscriber, supporter and fan. This was one time that I think CU was way out of their league. I, like a lot of others here were surprised by theie results.
Zaino FTW. After 5 coats (which take 30 minutes...) a week or 2 apart, no wax can beat it. First coat is just like everyother wax out, but since it layers, it shines like no other.
I'll give a vote for zaino.
BUT... it's not always the best solution.
If your paint has been neglected, zaino won't help you. If you are a neglector, and you don't like detailing all that often, I recommend a good 1-step CLEANER wax.
For example, Meguiar's ColorX. That is some good stuff. It made my girlfriend's civic go from fugly to near perfect. (clay bar required) Her paint had been neglected for at least 9 months. Bird ****, water spots, no wax whatsoever, etc.

Polish - I use Menzerna Final Polish (from Germany I think)
Wax - I use Blackfire.. good stuff, holds up really well. One coat lasts me months and months and makes my SB shine like 3,200 lb mirror. Specifically made for black and red cars. http://www.properautocare.com/blacwhatdif.html

I apply both using a Porter Cable. Great results and gets done in half the time of hand waxing!

My favorite wax to use on the Z:
Mothers Reflections Car Wax (synthetic)
Followed by:
Mothers Reflections Top Coat
I got to use the Mother's three step on a co-workers recently restored 1964 Pontiac LeMans and that worked great, too.
Otherwise, the other wax in my garage is Meguiar's NXT.
I've been dabbling with Adam's Car Polishes (aka, CG). Using the Brilliant spray glaze and butter wax yields great results but tends to be a 'brighter' shine than depth.
I'd like to get my hands on a bottle of Pinnacle Souveran. Seen some awe inspiring results with that product.

Yes, Souveran is a great wax. Very much like Poorboys Nattys Blue but much deeper; definitely a favorite of mine. I personally don't have a favorite polish/sealer/wax, just because I use so many and like different ones on different colors/metallics/pearls etc... Right now on my car I've got Jeffs Werkstatt Acrylic Jett with Souveran on top.

A couple other recent Souveran applications:

Of course always remember, process > products.
Cheers.
