I've seen people do this in small businesses. Haven't tried it yet.. gotta buy some more windex... but does it really work??
I haven't done this myself but the directions on the back of the can of Invisible Glass (by Stoner) says this:
"For streak-free glass cleaning, it is important to use a proper applicator. Use only soft, clean, lint-free cloths or towels that are free of residual detergents and fabric softeners (that can streak glass). Avoid paper towels that contain streaky wetting agents. Some pros prefer crumpled newspaper."
I can tell you that I do get streaking sometimes from the terry cloth towel I use but I haven't gotten around to trying the crumpled newspaper only because I usually keep a towel in the trunk anyway. Maybe I'll try it later and post here.

Some people like newspaper because it is slightly abrasive and cleans road grime off better than a very soft towel. If your wipers are streaking you can try newspaper.
When my windshield get streaky (about 1-2 times a year) I will bust out the Ajax / BonAmi / Softscrub / Whatever we got in the house and really scrub the window. It helps alot. A freshly scrubbed windows and cleaned wipers wrk awesome.(clean wipers with isopropyl alchohol [rubbing alch])

Whats the best way to get rid of water spots?
I washed my Brick today and had to take a car while I was drying.
It got to hot and when I came back I had some nasty water spots.
Any Suggestions??

I've done it, with newspaper. People said its because of the ink and wax on the news paper that makes the window shines more. Works quite good actually. The only draw back is it gets your hand dirty.

Yep. I tried using the crumpled newspaper this evening and it works pretty well. No streaking like I get sometimes with my terry cloth towel. Looks like I'm going to to keep around more editons of the free Daily Bruin from now on.
When I was living in Mexico this little old man use to wash our cars and he would use newspaper for the windows while the glass was still moist. Ever since then I have always used newspaper. Try it youll like it.
Here is my arsenal for cleaning glass. http://www.properautocare.com/glascleankit.html

Cheapest, easiest and streak free with terry cloth towel.
Use bar keepers friend(grocery store) first to clean the window, then.......
1. buy a cheaper plastic spray bottle.
2. fill 60% distilled water, 25% white vinegar, 15% rubbing alcohol. Shake
3. spray and wipe.
It'll get anything off your window with no streaks at all, and very cheap.
