Swirl marks on Black
What is the best product/method to remove swirl marks on dark (black) paint?
I do not have access to a rotary or porter cable and prefer to do it by hand.
So which product/method is the best?? Swirl marks are driving me crazy...
Thanks guys.

Without a PC, it won't matter what product you use. Trying to do it by hand will probably not result in a great finish. Polishes need a certain amount of "work" to do their job properly. Trying to do a whole car by hand will literally kill you.
That being said, you can try 3M Swirl Mark Remover. Good luck.
At least you'll build up your arm and hand muscles.

+1 .... you're gonna need a machine. doing the whole car by hand is nearly impossible. Also, don't start with a rotary-only buffer, you want a DUAL ACTION buffer such as the porter cable...
You need to apply 15-20 lbs of pressure to make most polishing compounds such as meguiars scratchX work. And you have to work a tiny section at a time. It will take you nearly forever to finish a car by hand, and the results won't come close to what you can do with a machine.
If the swirl marks aren't too horrible you can try a few coats of zaino Z-5 followed up with a coat of Z-2 ... see how you like it.

swirl marks and black pretty much go hand in hand. the Z is the first non black car ive really owned. before that everyone of my cars showed every single scratch and line you put on them. ill go on the record and say a clean black car is the best looking car but its a damn headache to keep it that way. my GF and I just bought a black pathfinder (super black same paint code as Z) and its only a few months old and showing some swirls already
