they sell top coat stuff that suposedly reduces the static properties of a cars exterior, as well as making it smoother, so much so that dust practically flys off at speeds

never ttired it though

Try getting some Collinite insulator wax:

I use this on the entire front end of my car (bumper, hood, side fenders, and mirrors). This stuff also makes it very easy to remove bugs. My parents put some on the front half of the hood on their RX-8 and after a week or so, you could tell that the section that was waxed with this stuff had little to no dust compared to the other section.

Try grounding the vehicle. Use a metal wire to touch the chasis of your Z to the ground after every wash/wax. This should ground out all the static.

As everyone else has already said, the California Car Duster works great! Beware though, you're probably going to be doing this everyday but it's worth it!

Maybe MB isn't for you? I used to have a black one and now I have white due to the above reason

Zaino Z-6 and Z-8 tend to repel dust pretty well.

Meguiars NXT soap and wax are supposed to reduce static. That + CA duster should work well.

Welcome to the joy of owning a dark car; black, of course being the worst. Keep in mind that no single product will work as a "force field" against dust. You will always have accumulation, especially on the rear half of the car. All a "low static" QD will do for you is reduce the dust a little bit, the emphasis being on little, as long as the paint is otherwise well-cared for. FK1's #425 and ClearKote's Quick Shine are two QDs that claim to "repel dust". I own and use both and have come to realize that although each of them is a terrific synthetic QD for depth and reflectivity in paint, anyone buying them just for the claimed anti-static properties would be getting sold on a marketing ploy; neither works any better than a simple coat of Nano spray wax or Optimum Car Wax (also a spray).

u live in tx what do you expect? You are going to have dust. I see a lot of people suggesting Calif. Duster. You better lay it on some newspaper for a week before you use it on you black car. It will show some streaking on the finish since the waxes in it will spread on you black finish.
