Default What do you use to clean your interior?

Hey guys I really need to clean the interior of my car. My dash I haven't cleaned since I've bought the car back in January of 2006, same thing with the doors, behind the seat glove box area, and trunk area. What is the best product that you guys recommend using when cleaning these areas? I don't want to use armorall because it has that ghetto shine and everything and after using it in the past I noticed that it just makes the interior look oily/greasy. I want that clean OEM look like you just walked out of the dealership with it. A friend of mine told me to use a clean shammy and wipe off everything inside but I'm a little uncertain of that. Any advice or recommendations?

I generally clean with a damp microfiber cloth. I apply some 303 Vinyl Protectant to the non-waffle textured areas.

If you haven't cleaned it since January, wipe it down with a DRY cloth first. Otherwise the dust will gunk up in seams and crevices. Wipe it down dry, then use a detailing brush in the seams, etc. Maybe another wipedown and then follow with a damp cloth. If there is anything that needs actual cleaning, Vinylex on a damp cloth works well. Then follow the cleaning with some 303.

Wipe clean with a damp microfiber towel.

Protect with 303 Aerospace Protectant. Don't spray 303 or any other liquid directly to the door, dash, console or interior panels - it will result in dark blotchy spots all over. Spray on a terrycloth towel or applicator and let it soak in for a few seconds then briskly wipe the towel on the interior. That will evenly distribute the 303/product around so you get a nice clean finish.

303 AP FTW!

I love the dust resistance it has.

carefull cleaning the bay, harsh cleaners can degrade the wires and at night it will look like a lightshow when you pop the hood.

Depends how dirty it is:

a. A bucket of water with a little car wash. Use a towel.

b. Followed by Mothers Back-to-Black on a damp towel.

No AA slimy shine. It leaves everything with a nice satin look.

You can also use 303 on exterior pieces. It's great for rubber door seals, radiator hoses, wiper blades, plastic trim.

careful on the door seals around the windows! With mine I think it soaked into the rubber and now it leaves a nice mark where it seals on the windows. After 60 months it's finally wore off to the point it doesn't leave as bad of a mark.

I use Maguiar's leather conditioner/cleaning wipes for the seats. A clean damp fiber cloth or Absorber for light dusting on the interior panels. Carpet stains, I use Simonz Tuff Stuff with built in scrubbing brush. For dirty panels, I use the premoistened Windex wipes, then go over it again with a fiber towel to remove the lint. Alot of people do not suggest using windex on interior panels, but it works for me. Been using it for years and never have had a problem

Almost forgot, for stubborn stains caught up in a porous textured panel I use a small spray of 409 and a tooth brush.

I have had good luck with Blue Magic leather/vinyl cleaner (can be bought at Pep Boys or Autozone). Make sure with whatever protectant you get that it's silicone free.
