I have a Black 350z, and I have this annoying tree sapp streak on the top of the roof (i hope it's tree sapp, cuz it actually looks like a big noogy someone hacked on my car). I've washed it like 4 times and it wont come off. I don't want to rub it out, cuz it's black paint (everythings shows on black)

Someone told me to use Goo-Be-Gone product, but I don't know if that's safe on the paint.

Any suggestions on removing this sticky crap off my car w/o causing scratches or swirl marks?

hmmmm. i would get a plastic body razor or something if it's that thick. If it isn't that thick try some detailing clay. Try a heat gun too if all else fails...use very carefully.

try using a clay bar. if that doens't work try using some bug and tar remover. the one that turtel wax works well for me and only costs a couple of bucks and its safe for your paint.

Scratch Remover works, i bought some cheap one from wal-mart called "Scratch Out" its in a yellow tube. It works, trust me, i've used it many times on my car and other peoples cars. Its clear coat safe so it wont do any damange. Or you can try other brands, im pretty sure they all work.

 

Alcohol. (Not booze, I mean IPA). I use it all the time at work on painted surfaces and on my PPW Z. I had parked under a pine tree (without thinking) and found *hundreds* of little spots on my paint. But the IPA did a good job at taking the stuff off. Use with a soft cloth.

I would echo that approach, from least aggressive, to most aggressive. If these spots are tree sap, I'd give IPA/water (50/50) a shot also. Saturate the spot with a spray bottle containing IPA/water, cover up the spot with a papertowel/MF, re-saturate with IPA, and let it set for a few minutes.

d. WD40
e. mineral spirits
f. clay

 

50/50 IPA mix would be my aproach as well. Just be aware that you will likely have removed your sealant in that spot so you'll want to reapply.
