Default Minor scratch - scratch remover?

don't have a picture of it, though i don't think it would help much. i have a minor scratch maybe 3"~ or so long. it seems to only be a surface scratch on the clearcoat. it doesn't even look like it dug into the paint/clearcoat, it seems to be a surface blemish. i tried using a wet cloth to "scrape" it off but it won't come off. i'm guessing it might be from one of those rubber stops on car doors.

what is the easiest/best way to get this off?

If you can feel it with your fingernail, then a simple scratch "remover" like Scratch-X or 3M SMR won't get it out. You'll need to compound and/or polish it out, assuming it's not too deep.

no i can't feel it with my finger nail. i'm pretty sure it's just a surface blemish, a color stain where something has rubbed off.

Then you should be able to remove it with a "scratch remover" product, on a fine polish like the 3M Swirl Mark Remover.

Check out our new forum sponsor Turbo Wax. Look at post #17 in this thread (pics of the red car), to see the results of how a scratch was removed using Turbowax.
