Default Zaino has arrived

Just in time starting to get a little nicer here. Let me know if you feel i am missing a certain type that you swear by. Also a little nervouse to use clay bar. Do you claybar the whole car or just certain areas?

Claybar the whole car. Dr. Bonz (Zaino master) has a "how-to" instructions for Zaino here:

There's also a writeup on Autopia:

call your body shop and ask, depends on if the new paint is baked on or not, most likely yes you do, i had to wait 30 days.

I would. To make sure call the bodyshop to find out the cure time and ask them when it will be okay to apply your [B]Zaino[B]. I have recieved mine over a month ago and I'm anxiously waiting to apply mine. I ordered the same package as you did. I'm doing it on my 05 Super black. I will keep you informed when I will apply mine and post pictures.

It may be a myth, but Ive been told applying vertically has a much improved effect on dark cars. I apply vertical on mine even though I have silver and the car apears to be under water.
The clay bar..I use it only if neccary. If you use it and no dirt comes off, stop right there. Just use a cleaner wax and rewax the car. The most common areas to use the clay bar are: door sill areas, all fenders. Anywhere near the bottom of the car, front of the car. Parts I usually dont need to use claybar is the roof, hood, hatch/trunk.
Make sure you use the white wax followed by the pink wax. The pink stuff is the magic stuff. Some people don't use the pink stuff since its a ltitle harder to apply, but DAMN is it good.

yeah i have used zaino many times b4. the body shop said do not use a silicone wax on it for 90 days. i dont believe the zaino products are silicone based and its not even a wax its a polish (Im pretty sure) soooo.... i bought the new clear stuff and cant wait to see how that works. its new and says just wipe it on and you dont have to remove. unlike the pink which you have to wipe on let dry, and then buff off. and yes they say to go top to bottom on the doors and the hood should be from windshield to bumper straight down. they also said to do one single stroke. This stuff is so confusing to follow and such a b*tch to apply but is definitely worth every minute u spenp applying

I'd get some z5, z6, and z8 too. Well, I guess you don't need the z5 if you don't have any swirls, but I like to do z6 in between layers of z2/z5/zCS and always finish with Z8 on top.

I don't think it's totally a myth. The idea is to apply and remove product in a straight line. That way if you do happen to introduce swirls or scratches, they will be straight lines, not circular. If you look at a straight line scratch, it is most visible when it is perpendicular to your line of sight. A circular scratch is visible from almost any direction you look at it. That's why when you look at the suns reflection on a cars paint, you see the circular spider web pattern.

In theory, the optimal straight line application is done front to back on horizontal surfaces and up-down on vertical surfaces. It all has to do with making scratches more or less visible depending or where you look at the car.

Personally, if it's freshly painted, I'd wait 4 to 6 weeks. Chances are, the door wasn't heat cured unless they removed all the plastic, rubber, etc.

Just ordered the total protection kit . It's snowing and 15 degrees outside though, but it's supposed to get in the 50's next week, so hopefully I'll get to use it soon.
