Thumbs up Meguires rules!

With my apologies............

On recommendations from you all here and several friends, I finally relented and changed from my old (several years) car wax and tried Meguires Gold Class.

Unbelievable! DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP shine! I love this stuff! I feel like I discoved the ultimate wax! Nothing but Meguires for my Zs from now on!

Z on!

I used it for a long while then finally progressed to Blackfire. Meguiars makes a good wax but durability is low - meaning 3 month rewax - no biggie overall though.

1. Meguiars - liked but found....
2. Zymol - and used up until I wanted something like...
3. Blackfire - which I now use exclusively....

unless i want to try something out on my lighter colored car.

Amen to the Blackfire. It last for soooo long. And smells pretty good, too! It is very thick, just make sure you don't do it in the sun or that stuff will bake right on!

It's amazing how long it keeps the car glassy smooth. Pollen has been falling for a month here and it isn't doing anything. What I normally do when it ifnally wears off is wash it thoroughly (Meguiar's Hi-Tech), then use Crystal Guard Quick on it, then apply a coat of Blackfire.

Now what I'm looking for is something to keep the windows clean longer.... At least half as long as the Blackfire keeps the car clean!

zcar70, I was addicted to Gold Class for a long time! As much as I'd love to be dramatic and say I immediately threw away my Gold Class upon discovering Blackfire, I didn't. It is good (awesome) wax for the price! It delivers the same awesome deep shine that Blackfire does. However, because Blackfire is synthetic and melts off at like 400+ degrees, it last 10 times longer. Try a single bottle!

Default Where to get BLACKFIRE?

Even though durability isn't an issue with my Zs ( pampered and I enjoy waxing anyway), I would like to give Blackfire a try. However I have never seen it in any stores in this part of the world. Is it mail order only?

Thanks for the advice!

I use RAIN-X on all my windows and mirrors. It is awesome what is does 20MPH and the rain just flies right off the windshield! However, that's not what I mean...

The Blackfire does such a great job that I can't find a class product to match it. Dust collects on windows because you can't wax'em. Most of the time I just end up cleaning the windows more than the car

Yah - cleaning windows is the worst. They have a glass polish that works pretty nice but it's not something that lets you get away having great glass for a long time. It doesn't last any longer than windex just seems to extend the life a couple extra days.

Personally I prefer InvisiGlass. It comes in a can and is pretty easy to use. Amazing how well it does windows. Gets everything off'em and is totally tint safe.

NOOOOOOOo, I used it once,a fter a while the water wouldn't slide off the same way and and it would just spread out, vs wiping off with my wipers, once you use it it NEVER comes off, so you have to keep using it.

I hated it, it ruined my windsheild

...yeah, smart guy...genrally things do wear off after a lot of use. That's why you have to re-apply them. Jeebus.

I waxed my car this weekend for the 1st time. I needed something to do for easter sunday so I washed and waxed the Z. Ran over to Meijer's and picked up a bottle of Meguires Gold Class. It came out great!! I would have tried blackfire or zaino but they don't sell it locally on easter sunday . Oh well I think it turned out great.

Thumbs up

I'm a Meguires Gold man myself and also don't mind the need for frequent waxing. There is nothing as good as another coat of wax to finish the car off after it gets washed. I've only had my 350 since early March and the weather's been so bad it's still got less than 500 miles but it had its 5th coat of Gold this past weekend. Everyone here seems to be Zaino crazy but I'll stick with Mequires I think. Also, isn't Blackfire intended for dark color cars ? How does it work on light colors ?

I started with Gold Class and now use either Blackfire or Klasse (All-in-One, High Gloss Sealant).

You can use Klasse AIO on the side and rear windows with good results and it repels the pollen and cleans easily. It isn't approved for the windshield.

Cheers.

My car is Silverstone...medium colored I guess. Works fine for me. First time I apply it there a bit of residue (swirliness), even in the shade. It's not baked in, it's only there because Blackfire is so thick. After a second wash (or rain) it's all gone and clean as anything
