How do I get rids of chemical spots on my plastic gauge cover?!?
I cleaned the gauge cover on my 1999 Prelude SH a while back with gulp armour all (before my350z.com edutated me on detailing) and there were some spots where the plastic was discolored. I was assuming because I could not wipe them off that somehow some of it had gotten behind the plastic.
Today I removed the cover and got back there. But quickly found out that the marks are on the face, and seem to be from the chemicals. I tried some good plastic cleaner, and also tried waxing it.
Anyone else have any ideas???
Here are the pics of the cover and the spots.
It is really annonying - see it every day!!!

Thanks for any help!!!

Consider a good plastic polish from 3M or Meguiar's (most auto supply retailers have them). I've had good luck with this on similar materials (plastic rear windows, motorcycle bits). The effects last a good while if the parts aren't exposed to the elements. Good luck!
That's what Zaino Z-14 is made for. I use it on helmet face shields, and when I had lexan windows, I used it to keep them clean (glass cleaner on lexan is just not a good idea).
When you're using spray cleaners in the car, spray the cleaner onto the cloth when you are OUTSIDE the car, then bring the wet cloth in and clean up. Cleaning-product overspray is ugly, so don't spray anything in the car.

Plastic polish MAY be the way to go, but using it has some danger as well. It must be used carefully.
Before trying polish (or after polish) try Plexus. It is a spray polish/cleaner made specifially for clear plastics. It has worked WONDERS on the things I use it on. I bought it for my helmets since locally it is the most recommended product for face shields. But I have also seen it clear up fogger plastic in storm doors and even smooth ver minor scuffs on DVDs.

Plexus is definitely good stuff and it wouldn't hurt to try it first. I only recommended the polish because he said he had tried a good plastic cleaner with no success. Do be carefull with polish though - follow the instructions to the letter and you won't have anything but great results.
