I applied the first 3 coats of Zaino today with many more to follow in the future. My RSX had about 15 coats of Zaino on it when I traded it in for the Z. Purchased the Z on Tuesday but had to wait til today (Saturday) for the weather to improve enough for the Zaino operation. I started at about 1300 and didn't finish until 1830. Here is a list of what I did.

1. Wash with Dawn to remove dealer wax.
2. Claybar entire vehicle
3. Wash again with Meguiars Gold Class Wash
4. Apply 1st coat of ZFX'd Z-2 to paint, wheels, and lights.
5. After 30 minutes remove Zaino and apply second coat.
6. After another 30 minutes remove Zaino and apply 3rd coat.
7. Remove 3rd coat and apply Z-6 spray and hand buff.

It was a lot of work but well worth it. Had many conversations with the curious neighbors throughout the process and even met a few that I had not met yet. Here are some pictures of the fruits of my labor. Best if viewed Full Size.

When you clay the car, you should use a Z-7 carwash mixture as the lubricant to the clay. Once you're done using the clay, all you need to do is rinse & wet-wipe the car. The Z-7 that you sprayed onto the car with the clay will help break the water's surface tension so it doesn't spot as much. You shouldn't need a full wash with a detergent, which may give contaminants (like the minerals in your water) more time to stick to the paint. The "post-clay rinse" should be a quick one. Follow it up with a Z-6 spray to make sure you get the car completely dried.
