Default windshield wiper fluid

Ok so I searched and didn't find any results (I hope this is in the right forum, if not please move it).

What kind of windshield wiper fluid do you guys use/recommend? I'm about to get a Z and don't want to do anything that could damage anything. Currently I've got a used Maxima and I really don't care, but my Z will be babied.

BTW love all the other cleaning/advice you guys have.

I have never bought special wiper fluid for any vehicle. Water and a cap full of car wash works well. In the winter I might add a couple ounces of isopropyl alcohol.

Call me cheap.

Yeah I haven't either, but with the Z it will be a little different for me, I actually care about this car.

I wouldn't use any solution or soapy water or even tap water. They all will leave water spots, chemical or soap residue on your glass or body parts that it runs onto. The best thing is distilled water.

Yeah I was thinking about using distilled water as well since I was afraid anything else might get on the body and damage the paint or leave spots on the glass/paint. I use this rainx windshield fluid for my camry b/c it 'cleans bugs off' and helps 'melt ice' supposedly and I just don't really care about that car, but I just got a G35 and nothing is going to damage my baby.

I rarely use the washer anyway. If the windows get dirty, so is the car so I wash it all. If you want to keep your Z/G spotless, then stay away from the squirter anyway. All it does it wash crap onto the roof and side trin pieces where it dries and leaves stains.

I usually the washer tablets that dissolve after you throw one tablet in and water. Another thing is changing the crappy wiper blades.

And highly annoying as they probably won't clear the windows properly anyway.

I never use tap water. Over time the minerals will clog up the spray nozzels. Any blue solutioned windshield wiper fluid for 99cents down at the local autoparts store will be fine.

I agree, I hate having dirty/messed up windshield wiper blades. I replace them as soon as they show any sign of deterioration.

Where do you get these tablets? I've never seen them. I like to was my car once a week, but sometimes you need to clean the windows a little bit and you don't have the time to wash the entire car.

Once in the winter I needed washer fluid in my 4Runner, so I made my own with mouthwash and windex. It sure smelled good when I sprayed the windows....

I use the one made by Rain-X---Its Orange colored and leaves a layer of the Rain-X on the glass so water beads, and in light rains you dont have to use the wipers---Little more that reg....Maybe 3.00 a gallon

Yeah I use this in my Camry, not bad stuff. Wondering if there is something better out there though.
