Dull spot after claybar
Hey guys,
I was using claybar to rub a small spot that had some sap on it. I think I rubbed a bit too hard (i did use lube) and now the spot lost shine and looks dull/whitish.
I applied some zaino afterwards which seemed to improve things but today after it rained, i can still see the while "rubbed off" areas. Is there a polish i can get to bring the shine back to them? I thought Zaino was a polish but I've been reading some posts that say no. I used z5 on it and again, although it looked better once i put it on, today after raining i can tell the spots again.

The sap has probably damaged the clearcoat. You can try a scratch/swirl mark remover on the spot first to see if that smoothes it back up. If not, a fine cut polishing compound followed by the swirl mark remover.
Zaino is not an abrasive polish so it won't remove any paint/clearcoat that is necessary when fixing blemishes such as this. Z-PC is the Zaino Polish-Cleaner which is mildly abrasive and will take out that spot. You can use it in stead of the swirl mark remover or fine cut polish.

Base coat, as a rule, is a flat --Its the clear that introduces the gloss---If it was broken through it has to be repaired by repaint

Hopefully you didn't go through the clear coat. Like Eazzzzzzy was saying if you did you will have to get that resprayed with clear. Hopefully all you did was scratch up the clear coat where that area is. If that's all just use a mild abrasive compound to smooth the area out and start reapplying your polish and wax.
