Default Messed up my Z's paint, any easy fix???

I know I'm an idiot...now how do I solve my problem? So I tapped off my headlights and sprayed some smoke tint spray. Afterward I realized the spray traveled way past my 1 1/2 foot of tape. I tried using Mineral Spirits to get the stuff off but it had no effect on the rough layer of misted paint on my hood. Does anyone have any good ideas for getting this CRAP off without ruining my paint? My car is black so its nearly going to be impossible but I know somoene out there has a heads up. Thanks!

You might try to clay bar it.

Fortunately for you, there is a real easy fix for this problem that won't harm your paint. You need to get a detailing claybar. Follow the instructions and it will easily remove your overspray.

You could also try some soft compound on it first.

claybar is easier and not as abrasive on the paint. Def try claybar first

Claybar, that's what it was originally designed for.

3m buffing compound. The light one for swirl mark removal It's not too harsh. But, after you see it work, you may want to do your whole car.
