Default How u wash ur microfiber towels?or donīt u?

as the title says how do u wash ur microfiber drying towels or donīt u do at all???
is it necessary? what do u do, just dry them and use them as tehy are?

btw another question: i dry my car with the meguiarīs WATER MAGNET DRYING TOWEL, and i noticed that the paint is real rough after itīs dry...
so i thought i polish my car with some NXT wax....but didnīt changed

i even noticed that my hood, which i clayed, was rough as hell after i washed it the first time after NXT waxed? so where is the problem????
could it be that one of my drying towels is "bad".
any ideas?

thx

i wash them with very little detergent and let it air dry. You can get away with very light drying. Don't get it too hot or then it will get static. and whatever you do, DON'T PUT ANY TYPE OF DRYING FRESHENERS/SOFTENERS. it will mess up your towels for good.

btw, to your other questions. Polish is when you use something that has abrasives in it. The nxt wax is just a sealant. Wax and polish is two diff things but people usually mix the too up. If you put wax (the nxt stuff you used) over rough texture of your car, it won't make things smoother. Also wax doesn't give your car shine either. Use polish first, wax(sealant) second.

what are you talking about? paste and liquid are just forms of wax. nxt comes in paste and liquid. They both give the exact same results. People prefer the paste just best it is less messy and you can control more on how to use it. NXT is not for shine. It's for protection of the paint longer than carnauba wax. NXT is a synthetic. Carnauba are usually 95-100% wax but heat, weather, water kills the time it will be on your car. You can't just slap on wax and expect wet looking paint.

Nice, premium microfiber towels can be used to dry the car. Cheap microfibers over time will scratch the paint. I recommend washing with a sheep mitt and then dry with a synthetic chamois.

The microfiber towels from Zanio state to wash them in liquid laundry soap only and allow them to drip dry. Mine are three years old and work fine.

just wash them with a little 'liquid' detergent and dry with 'air' or on 'low'. Check out the Zaino or DFtowel site for details.

Microfibers
you can dry them in a dryer no problem, they're supposed to be staticy (is that a word?)

and yes, dont use any softners, or any other additive for that matter.

ONLY use detergent when in the washer, and NOTHING in the dryer

To play it safe I use only specific microfiber detergent, bought anywhere
check www.autogeek.net

I've used other detergents before and they worked fine, I just rather have something specifically made to clean microfibers.

Drying your car....
I've actually changed the way I dry my car in the past 4 months. I now use a Microfiber Waffle Weave towl, and they really work great. I'll never dry my car using anything else. I'm using a Cobra microfiber waffle weave towl (specifically). They come in all sizes, and I bought the largest one they have. The car feels perfect when it's done (there's always a coat of wax on my car). I never even have to ring the towl out once before I finish. It just absorbs that much. They're great!
ps, dont buy the autozone microfiber drying towls, a friend of mine did that doesn't like to spend money on his z28. By just looking at the texture of it I can tell it's not the same.

Polishing...
please put a protective coat over top the polish when your done. make sure to read directions and guidelines as far as how long you have to let it sit (cure) before putting a protective coat on. Protective coat: sealant or wax. natural or synthetic, no difference, follow the polish guidelines and read up on the polish online to see what you should use on top of it.

the way you used wax wasn't right. You stated in your first post that your paint felt rough so you polished with wax and it didn't change. Wax is a sealant. You need an abrasive to get rid of the texture. Claybar will usually do the trick but i think the polish is more user friendly. If you don't know how to use teh claybar, it can scratch up your car so bad then you would have to polish. Mine as well polish it first. Meguairs have an over the counter polish but i don't think it will do the trick. Maybe you can pick up some 3m products from pepboys. Actually pepboys carry the meguair's professional line. Very good products. Use their light polish(the one that states that you can use by hand). Then after you polish, wax the car(nxt) to seal in what you just did.

just get an use use the Zaino kit. It has everything you need minus the towels. Follow there instructions to the T and you will have a phenomal protective shine that will last for 6 months between washes. Impossible to screw up and any questions you would have are on their FAQ. Easy Greasy

I wash all my micro fiber towels with the regular wash, then dry them in the dryer with 1 bounty dryer sheet. No problems here. They never leave residue on the glass either...
