Default Vector Waxxpro Porter cable 7" VEC261

ya, i bought this from autozone while back. I have this backing plate which is not a velcro backing plate.

So i'm trying to find a different kind of backing plate. I have search in every kind of auto detailing website and such. However, this one place i visited said that the backing plate is different for mine because of the screw size?

i really want a velcro backing plate..i'm so confused.

Can you direct me to a specific product that will fit my PC? any help would be appreciated.

if you need more info, let me know. thank you!

i have pmed some of the members about and they gave me the website but it's not enough information because i have to find the backing plates and the pads but how will i know if it will fit?

thanx!

Based on the picture, that's the one that fits the standard P-C polisher - a 5/16" spindle. That's what I have and use with my P-C.

If yours is a P-C clone/equivalent/copy then it should fit.

Oh, you're using "p-c" in the context of polisher-cleaner. Most people here use "P-C" as the abbreviation for Porter-Cable.

I guess the first question is "can you even remove the pad/plate from that device"? If so, remove it and get a 5/16" bolt from the hardware and see if it fits.

I looked at their website and it pretty much sucks in terms of specs or details.

no, it won't fit. You need to get a better polisher as the real porter cable 7424 or equivalent.

hmm, its all good..i found out how not to make it go whack.

what happens was, i was using too much wax and the microfiber bonnets seems to gather up lots of excess. While spinning, it becomes heavy due to the wax and therefore getting off the plate. So i had to pace myself and watch how much wax i am using. Other than that, it's all good.

i'll just have to work my way around with this thing. i'll buy a better portercable after few years.

just don't have 300 bucks for the PC at the moment.

hmm..super glue the velcro to the backing plate and get a bonnet that'll stick to the velcro??
Honestly, i was thinking of that but i don't know if it will be effective..

hmm..sounds interesting...i'll have to find a velcro that will fit it..or else i'll have to stick with my old-fashion method...(it helps me lose weight in the sun)

The Porter Cable (either model 7424 or 7336) does not cost 300 hundred dollars, I got my 7336 at Lowes for $99.99 Coastal Tool (do a search on the net) has them priced down there also.

What you have is basically a "waxer" buffer and most do not have removable heads.
