Has anyone used this stuff and is it any good. What are some of the better ones to use???

I've used RainX for years on various cars and love the way it works. I've also been know to rub a little Zaino on my windshield for the same effect.

 

I've used RainX for a long time. Just recently switched to Rain Clear Gel, by Glass Science. Stays on longer than the RainX does, and works just as well, but can be messy at times.

 

Been using RainX for the last 3 years. In Texas I need to reapply it once per year. My windshield wipers don't last that long...

 

I just use a little menzerna fmj and it work,s great.I use it on the paint and why not on the glass.

 

if ur wanting to clean ur windows.

use a window cleaner, and steal wool. then just whipe off.

and if ur have tints, u obviously do not use the steal wool on the inside.

but on the outside of any of ur windows, use steal wool with pressure, it wont scratch them

 

mm why steal wool? hows it not scratch teh glass?

and no, steal wool will not scratch ur windows.

BUT, like i said, dont use it on ur tints (obviously). use it on ur outside window only. (unless u dont have tints, then u can use it inside and out).

use it on ur front windshield, inside front, anything u want.

it is the best cleaning combo with window cleaner out there. swear to god.

 

so i went to autopia....and youre right, surprising, but apparently it works. i only found one specification, that it should be #0000 steal wool....so imma go and try this cuz my windshield seems to be really grainy and it wont come off...but ill try some clay first,

#0000 might not scratch, but if somebody read the initial suggestion and used any old steel wool laying around the house (#4 for example), it very easily could have scratched the glass surface.

 

no, it wont.

the only thing it would do is rust, and the only con about rusted steal wool is that it will get a lil messy.

trust me, i know. ive been detailing at BMW for a while now.

just use a fine sheeted steal wool. thats all.

 

lol dont use claybar on ur windows, it will get very messy and ull turn out having a bunch of smear marks all over ur windows. use steal wool. if u want a perfect/clean window.

 

Atually I was wondering what type of window coatings you would use. I finally found some stuff called Aquapel by PPG.


Sorry I wasnt interested in cleaning them.

 

oh okay.....i just thought id do it cuz i was told it works just as well on the windows as it does on the headlights.

 

ya but why go through all that just to clean a window.

steal wool + paper towel or w.e + window cleaner

is the best window cleaning period.

 

RainX and Zaino Gloss Enhancer work well for me

 

Rain-X does work very well, and some dont realize that they make a washer Fluid also, thats Orange and a couple bucks a gallon that works well also...Wal Mart

 

I've used clay on the windows, and never had a problem with smearing???

 

idk man, im not a detailer, i only read about how to detail and add to what i know to use on my z so its clean and to my liking. idk what the best, whats good....i only know what ive read and experienced and my preferences.

but also where can i find #0000 steal wool? automotive shop? home depot? lowes?
