Is Engine Heating Melting Car Wax???
Hey all, like the title says I've been finding that my hood has some ugly hazing on my newly waxed hood (after being driven for a couple days). If i rub it with a microfiber towel it goes away but then it's rough like there's no wax there and there's no shine.
I use "Technician's Choice TEC22 purple premium finishing wax" applied by hand. I can only assume the engine heat is affecting it cause the hood does get very very hot and the rest of the car is fine.
I'd appreciate it if any one could shed any light on what's happening and a solution if possible thx.

Wax frequently.
Pick a more durable synthetic wax.

LOL, for all of you guys saying zaino, it's really no difference. Hood produce more heat than other body parts. It will do the same thing. You guys are just buying overpriced products.

I've never had a hazing effect as referred to by th OP. He clearly states that he has hazing that when wiped off creates an area that feels like no wax is on it.
The Zaino I put on the car stays there and only comes off only if I use a clay bar or Dawn dish soap.
As for cost, Zaino is easy to apply, uses only 1 oz. to do the entire car, and has a shine that nets many compliments. Worth every penny...

Fixed.
Sorry, had too!
I have used Z8 and the shine really looks the same. I save it for shows SINCE IT COSTS A SMALL FORTUNE.

Zaino, Menzerna FMJ, Blackfire, Klasse, Autoglym, Jeff Werkstat are all synthetic polymer products that do not contain wax, they are a water based acrylic polymer. Far superior to any wax!!!!!!!
You obviously dont know what you are talking about so stop before you make
a bigger buthead of yourself!

Well, i've applied a coat of meguire's liquid wax. and it isn't even close to the shine of my technician's choice wax. so i've decided to compromise by using the meguires on the hood and the carnuauba wax on the rest of the car.
Also, would putting the more heat sensitive (but better looking) carnuauba wax on over an existing coat of meguire's wax work? haha or would the heat still destroy it in the same way as before?
