Default nu finish ?

A dealer recommended I use Nu Finish rather than wax. He said it seals the paint and lasts for a year. I am reluctant.

Wondering if anyone has tried it or knows anything about this product.

Thanks.

Ah, the usually stupid advise from a car dealer. Nu Finish is loaded with abrasives, cleaners, silicone, and kerosene. I would only use it on the most weathered, beaten finishes, NEVER on a brand new paint surface.

Contains lots of solvents:

and is FLAMMABLE

Tried it on my Hooptie. I wouldn't wax my lawnmower with that crap. Stick with Crystal Guard, Zaino, or Meguires. I've been using Meguires for years. They have several different kinds depending on the application. I have been using the new reflective Meguires since I got the Z in March. I am interested in trying the Crystal Guard. Here's what I'm getting with the Meguires.

I used it on my wifes car and it seems fine. Not really a SUPER shine. I dont know about the whole year thing yet either, but it seems to be holding up okay. I consider it just another synthetic.

I used Nu-Finish for years with good results........on my everyday cars. It also seemed to work well on the older enamel finish of my 240Z. Easy to use, nice shine lasted well (about 6 months). The only big drawback was the excessive dust generated when waxing. A good bang for the buck.

However........when I got my 350, and upon advice of friends and those of you here, I decided to go with Meguiars Gold Class. WOW!!!!!!!!!!! This stuff is UNBELIEVABLE! Great shine and depth, not bad to use, and the price is right too.

Nothing but Meguiars for me and my Zs from now on!

I used to use Gold Class for about 5 years. Once I went Zaino, now I won't go back It is easier and last significantly longer. Shine is not a huge step up, but the durability and ease of application/removal is well worth it.

I'd say Blackfire would be another good step up over Gold Class, from what I've read. Gold Class just doesn't last as long, and it is a PITA to remove.

Thumbs up

I, too, used NuFinish (the liquid, that is) for many years on many cars with very good results. It's fine, there's nothing wrong with it. Easy on, easy off, long lasting, economical. In fact, it sold me for life on durable polymer-type polishes over natural waxes.

I just went to the Zaino system, though, on my new coupe. I highly recommend it! It does require you put forth a little extra effort by comparison, mostly in prep work. But it's still easy to apply, and the results are very well worth it. You will definitely not be sorry!

There are several distributors that read this forum, or you could just go to http://www.zainobros.com/

You can e-mail Zaino and ask who the closest distributor is to you.
