Surprisingly black magic’s liquid wax is pretty damn good. Do not use too much, hard to get off. I’m serious try it.

Well thats not true, Megs #7 is highly respected and used in the show car circut, problem is its a glaze and not a last step product, its designed to go under a carnuba as its full of oils and fillers to help with the shine and cover minor swirls.

Here is my suggestion to a perfect shine:

Wash......two bucket method
claybar entire car and wheels
polish with Menzerna SIP/orange pad
polish with Menzerna PO106ff / white pad
IPA wipedown........menzerna leaves heavy oils behind that may interfer with bonding of LSP.
Zaino AIO base coat
Zaino Z5 x2
Zaino Z2 x1
12 hours between coats of Zaino or need to use ZFX
Zaino Z8 next day.
12 hours later you can top with Pinnacle or P21

You can also replace the Zaino system with Jeff Werstatt, its like Klasse on steroids!

It would depend on the price, as stated Autogeek runs thier two for one sale about every three months or so and you can use a coupon code for at least 10% on top of that and any purchase over 75.00 is free shipping.
Thats hard to beat!
And you dont need to spend $10.00 for a quality microfiber you just have to know where to look, Chemical Guys, Pak Shak and Surf City Garage all have quality microfibers for a great price, far less than 10.00 each.
Speaking of Surf City Garage they are a fairly new company to the scene and make some awsome products at a reasonable price, they have been getting some rave reviews on the detail forums I belong to, worth checking out.
Also the Mr. Clean wash contains drying agents that will leave a residue on your paint, you dont want that. Get a good ph balanced car wash that wont strip your wax like Zaino, Wolfgang, Blackfire or the Surf City garage stuff mentioned above.

I've used Meguiar's NXT Generation Tech Wax; both the liquid and paste. Here are results.

I washed, clayed and then applied one coat of liquid and followed up with paste. Applied both by hand and removed with Porter Cable 7424

Overall I'm happy with the results. This time around I am going to use Turtle Wax Liquid polish before I apply the coats of wax.

Just my two cents... (I apologize for the large photos.. and the crappy background...lol)

NXT has tons of fillers, once that washes off, the swirls in that black will reappear. Good look for now though. Shoot, claying alone on soft black paint will put light marring in on some cars.

FINALLY! I thought I was doing something wrong, but Black Magic's liquid wax is really annoying. It's so difficult to get off, I guess I apply too much?

It makes me angry when I keep trying to wipe off the haze and then all it does is it just becomes all greasy and it doesn't look good.

People say it is good, but I guess I suck at waxing.

yeah, if you are having a hard time taking off wax , you are most likely marring up the paint trying to get the wax off. Most wax should break up unless you used too much. The thinner the layer of wax, the more it will stick to the paint.

I thoroughly washed the car today and put her in the garage. Tomorrow I will begin waxing.

I think I should apply less wax on a smaller section. I have a circular terry cloth that I will apply the wax with. I will then wipe it off with a microfiber cloth. Hopefully things will go smoothly tomorrow, because last time I got so frustrated.

Question: When applying the wax, should I rub it on in a circular motion?

i would forget the terry cloth cloth. Try a foam pad. When i wax, since it's non abrasive, i go in a up and down motion, then go ever the same area back and forth..right away. This will make sure you are getting every area properly. Make sure this is on a clean surface though.

Doing it in circular motions is an iffy. If you are 100% sure your surface is clean, than it won't matter. As long as the surface is getting wax. But if you are not sure or there is some dust in the air or whatever, try going in a back and forth motion. It will reduce circular swirls if that's the case. Better safe than sorry i guess.

Call me crazy, but I like to spritz the foam applicator pad with a very light mist of QD before applying the wax. Seems to help spread the wax over the paint in a thin and consistent manner.

I just finished waxing with the Black Magic wax. I tried not to over-apply this time, so it wouldn't cake up. But it was still difficult to get the wax off. If I look closely I can still see some haze left-over, and everytime I try to wipe it off it just smears even more. I don't know what to do.

It still looks good though. I'll try to get pictures up so you guys can see what I am talking about.

I wasn't a fan of Black Magic. But I have used it and know the labor it takes to apply/remove it.

After removing the wax, I think you'll need to go over the car (again) with a plush MF towel and buff the car to a shine. Check out Detailed Image's website as they've got an awesome two-sided MF towel.

An alternative is to buff to a shine using a quick detailer.
