Bird $hit stain..
Ok, now I know if you let bird crap sit and dry long on your car, it can stain, but on previous cars, if it stained at all, I could buff it out. I had a bird crap on my Z on the roof, it rolled down the window and onto the door, it was awful! So I went home, cleaned it, waxed it, buffed it. If look closely in the sun, I STILL see a stain on both the door and roof, I simply can not get it out. It's just like a light filmy type stain on the paint. It's got to come out. I want to get it out before I polish it down with Zaino or CrystalGuard. Any ideas I haven't tried?
I hope someone responds, because I hav the same thing on my 350 and Max when one day I parked them out front. We had a garage sale and 5 hours later birds shitted all over both and stained them both in a few spots and I cant get it off.
It is a very simple fix if you have the right product, what you need is a mild abrasive, I would get some 3M Swirl Mark Remover part number 39009. The very top layer of clear coat has been disturbed by the acids in the poop, the mild abrasives in the 3M will flatten out the effected area.
What to do:
Remove any standing poo, clay bar the area if you have a clay bar, get under shop lights, do not work in the sun. Take a small piece of cotton terry cloth toweling or a foam wax applicator pad and put about a quarter size dot of the 3M on the pad, begin to work the 3M into the paint only on the effected area by hand, use quick back and forth motions (not round and round), work the 3M into the paint for about 30 seconds using firm pressure, then remove the 3M residue with a cotton detaling cloth. Look closely at the finish, the effect of the bird poo mark may be starting to go away, usually the first buff gets about half of the damage off. If you can still see the mark, repeat this step 4 or 5 times until you can not see the outline of the bird poo.
Keep your working area very small with the 3M, the 3M will slightly dull the paint in the work area. You will need to wax out this dullness using your regular final finish wax/polish product, in my case it would be Zaino Z-5 Polish.

Don't forget to wash the area with dawn dishwashing liquid AFTER the 3M and BEFORE the Zaino. The 3M product is very oily, and it will prevent your polish from adhering to the paint. You also want to wash away any of the abrasive that doesn't wipe off.
Inspect the area after you wash it. The oils in the 3M product can hide some of the damage, so if it looks good after buffing, make sure it STILL looks good after washing.
