Default lets plan the detail

So im buying a new z this week and have a bunch of options on what im going to do for the detail. Anyway some details on the car 2006 350z color is superblack.
I have plenty of experience using a pc and a flex and they will be used.
My thoughts where

Take off wheels clean degrease coat with poorboys wheel sealant
clean wheel wells with pb bio apc and dress with meguairs cleaner/ restorer forgot the number but its proffesional line, or maybe aerospace 303 or something coats brembo calipers with poorboys wheel sealant or klasse aio

wash with menzerna soap(whole car door jambs and all)

clay with meguairs clay using turtle wax ice as my clay lube or maybe meguairs cold class only because they have such high suds compared to menzerna

Wash with menzerna again

polish time first up is menzerna sip with an white pad and if thats not enough sip with an orange pad followed by p106ff with a white pad, all polishing will be done with my flex. After polishing I will do an iso wipe down to make sure all oils from polishing are removed

Then its sealant or wax time. I have a few choices for waxs. lusso oro pinnacle souvern any of the poorboys waxs s100 p21s or I can use zaino 3 coats z-5 3 coats z-2 with z-6 inbetween coats and a a z-8 wipe down when Its all done

Interior is last and Ill just do a wipe down to remove all of the armor all the old owner left on(any product tips?) and I will dress all plastics with aerospace 303 or einzett cockpit detailer.

Last is tire dressing, either of the meguairs gels hotshine or the purple one that smells like grapes.

What do you all think?

lol. Sorry, just wanted to point that out. It's so late (actually early) and i'm so tired. I just subscribed to this thread for tomorrow.

btw, i just tried this new Black magic matte finish tire shine. It's been a favorite with all of my BMW customers. They hate the super shiny look and looking more for a brand new tire look.

o dont worry its already in the works. I have a rather large order going with people these days. hey where can i get a bunch of microfiber towels, I need paint/ glass towels. For interior/ wheels/ metal polishing I have some cheapy walmarts Ill use and retire some of my current towels to that duty. What do you think of using the the entire poorboys wax line ie white red and blue as a standard mutli car color wax? What cg products are you using, there citrus wash is supposed to be phonominal. Ive also heard good things about there 50/50. Did you hear about that guy rebadging cg 50/50 and claiming he made it and charging astronomically for it? Seems its a concourso level wax.

Also how much has your soap consumption gone up with teh foam cannon. And when you dont use a mitt how do you dry, and when you do use a mit do you still follow the 2 bucket method? Are you a member of the waffle weave drying towel club? Or a california jelly blade crowd. Im wanting to replace my ultimitts with something more standard feeling, like a wool mit, which do you reccomend? My ultimits dont feel like they conform well enough.

Good line up for a detail.

Why are you going to use Turtle Wax Ice as the clay lube and not a QD?
The GC should do well, though.

Cheap, good mf towels can be had at Costco (~$15 for a pack of 30?)

I still think you'll get splatter with the Meg's Hot Shine Gel. But if you're experience with the product is different than mine, Go for it!

As for wax, you've got a lot of good choices to pick from. It all depends on the look you want for your new ride.

No engine cleaning?

BTW, I'm currently working on detailing my Z.
I started on Sunday afternoon and I am planning on taking my time.

Here's the scoop:
Wash with Meg's GC - 2 bucket method
Used Megs clay bar with Adam's QD (done after rinse/before drying)
washed again... and dried with the Absorber

Meg's Interior and Trim Foam for interior plastic panels
Meg's GC leather conditioner/protectant for seats
Meg's NXT glass cleaner w/mf glass towel

Polishing efforts:
PC7424 used for all polishing
Menzerna Power Gloss w/Orange pad used on some areas of hood
Menzerna SIP w/Orange pad (new pad) - entire vehicle (looks great already)

Up next:
Menzerna 106FF w/white pad - entire vehicle
Wash? Maybe ISO wipe...?
Red Moose Machine Glaze
Natty's Blue x2...or x3. We'll see. Should be whet!

Collinite 845 x2 on rims
Black Magic tire spray/foam

Sorry for the highjack. Thought adding my recent efforts might add to the conversation and help with other ideas.

yeah I wandered through it, but its very basic, he has alot more knowledge that would confuse most people if he put it in there. Superblack350 is what i consider my mentor for detailing.

when I said turtle wax Ice, I meant there car shampoo, its sudsy, as much if not more so than megs gc. Looks like youve got a good setup, what do you think of the red moose machine glaze? Ive actually never tried applying wax/ sealant by flex or pc, mainly because I dont have a non abbrasive pad for it. That and with how much souveran cost compared to most normal upper end waxs I dont like to waste it, the only cars it goes on are my buddies mustang and now my z. I bought it specifically for my car and nice friends cars. Im part of the select few that likes souveran on lighter colored cars. Although it reigns supreme on black cars.

Ah, I should have realized you were referring to the shampoo!

RMG?
I haven't used it yet as I'm only half-way through my polishing stage. I still have the 106ff to go.

I need to order a few things, both the pb waxs red/ blue and I guess now the clear kote rmg, I was impressed by their metal polish. Do you have any recs on a good qd, I cant find one I like, and I cant find a good clay lube. I was gonna try the clear kote lube/ clay combo, but I still need a qd. That chemical guys bar thing that looks like an applicator pads seems interesting and very very cost effective for customers cars if I can get the use it says out of it. I need a more cost effective solution for detailing than just buying the stuff I love. Souveran is not very cost effective. Zaino seems like it might be and its a well respected name, just like meguairs. Does anyone have a good soap rec, menzerna doesnt really sud at all, but it does a good job, but I like suds.

I'm a fan of Adam's Polishes QD but I have read that it might be ("is") the same as one of the Chemical Guy's Brand QDs...

As for cost-effective, if you're planning on doing business in detailing, I understand that the Optimum line of products (specifically Opti-Seal) is excellent for looks and being low on the budget.

Personally, I'm a fan of Collinite 845IW. It costs about $15 for a bottle and using a foam pad with a spritz of QD, I have been able to put coats of it on 3 cars and a 25 ft boat - so it definitely goes a long way. Plus, it is very durable.

mm that sounds good, but klasse aio seems to be a good way to go as well, arnt all of adams products originally a cg product and then altered to adams specifics.
here my order at detailed Image, I have a small order at chemical guys as well.

Looks like you have your detail lined up perfectly. I noticed that you are thinking of using Clearkote RMG in the line up. Just remember that it WILL NOT play well if you are thinking of using a sealant. As a base for Pinnacle Souveran it will be awesome.

I would consider washing the car with some Chemical Guy Citrus Wash and Gloss added to your foam gun. It will be the perfect prep prior to clay and polish.

Can't wait to see pics...
