small STAIN in my hood...how do I get it off?
Hey guys, I need some advice/help removing a small stain that showed up on my hood. THe only problem is that I don't know what caused it. It is about the size of a waterdrop, and transparent orange/yellow in color. I first noticed a small lump of some sort of "grimme" on the hood, which I wiped off when I was washing the car, and then I noticed that it left this small stain under it. I have tried buffing it out but it doesn't even seem to fade at all. I am thinking it could be some sort of paint, but it is too transparent looking, and not rough at all. My other thought is that it could be from something like bird "poo" that stained the clearcoat, but why would it be orange/yellow. Anyway, I am hoping someone has some ideas for over-the-counter products I could try to take out this stain. Any advice/input/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks...
Don't try the clay bar first. Try the most non-abrasive solution first, like a cleaning wax, then move on to more abrasive solutions as necessary.
Clay bar should be the last resort short of a body shop, and when you use it make sure it's only mild abrasive.
