Angry Help, Some dirt ball put Super glue on my paint

The glue ran down the door about 12 inches. I think it is some sort of super glue. The color is clear and I tryed WD40, Polishing Wax and Goof Off. No Luck.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

That sucks!

If it is super glue, acetone (finger nail polish remover) will at least soften it. Try it on a hidden spot first as I don't know what effect it might have on the clear coat on the car.

Good luck

I would NOT put acetone on the paint! That stuff will knock you out if take a whiff of it, and it will dissolve most things if comes in contact. I don't know for sure, but acetone may take the paint right off your car! I wouldnt take the chance, especially on this crappy paint.

Id say this is a job for a professional. go to a professional detail shop, somewhere that they could possibly even wet sand it off down to the paint without damaging anything...

wouldnt touch acetone to it, that should remove the paint and if its on a plastic part itll dissolve that too possibly.

just thought of something, if it was indeed superglue, the main ingredient of it is acetone, meaning the paint underneith is garbage. your lookin at just having it sanded down and repainted.

The Nissan Dealer bodyshop did a preliminary wet sand to see if the marks would come off. The initial wet sanding showed promise but they want there expert to finish the job. I am scheduled July 1st. I will post a final reply for future reference.

I wonder why no one else thought of that, seeing as the glue would just come right off if you clayed it

Question CA debonder

Go to a hobby shop and ask for "CA debonder". CA, is short for superglue. (cyanoacrolate) SP?

If it is super glue, it will soften and you will be able to roll the glue off with your finger (not your nail)

Default Thanks for the help

The painter tryed wet sanding, but due to the length of time the super glue was on the paint it soaked through the wax etc. They are going to re-paint the quarter panel, door and blend the front fender.

The painter has done (2) Le Mans Sunset before and he feels confident he can match.

Thanks for all your advise, this is a great forum.

I will post pics later
